On this episode, we’re thrilled to have Michael “Tunes” Antunes as our guest. Not only is he a skilled
martial artist, but he’s also a versatile actor and musician. Hailing from a musical family in New Bedford, Mass.

Michael took the stage at the young age of 13, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey.

During the 1960s, he showcased his saxophone talents with various New England bands such as The Blazers, Bernie and the Cavaliers, The New Spices, Mike ‘N’ Jenna, and Triumph. In the 1970s, he became a pivotal member of John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, a musical chapter that would define his career.

One of Michael’s standout moments includes contributing to the soundtracks of several iconic films, most notably in one of my all-time favorites, “Eddie And The Cruisers.” Notably, our guest was not just a musical force in the background; he also graced the screen in the film (and its sequel), portraying the fictional saxophonist Wendell Newton.

Join us as we dive into the multifaceted career of Michael “Tunes” Antunes and explore the intersections of martial arts, acting, and music that have shaped his unique journey.
