In this episode I sit down with my mom Michelle Cárdenas to discuss identity. I have struggled with my own identity being Filipino and Latina and it's something my mom has struggled with growing up as a first-generation Latina. My mother discusses her struggles growing up as a first-generation Latina and the reason she refused to speak Spanish when she was younger. Our struggles are something we both have in common and it comes up in our conversations from time to time, this happens to be one of those discussions.
