What is Next for Stage and Screen? AI-AI-Oh!
Don’t worry, despite what may be apparent from social media imagery, our two favourite podcasters haven’t been replaced by robot doppelgangers! But today’s episode does have a rather futuristic feel. You see in recent times two letters have caused puzzlement, consternation, hope, anger, worry, investment and much else in the entertainment industry, and indeed in the arts more widely... Those letters of course, are AI.
There is no denying its impact, or ignoring the ever-growing influence of AI, and this week Drew and Sam dive into the world of this technology, and especially its as yet undefined effects on the future of the performance world. It is such a fast-moving technology that there seem to be no boundaries or limits, and the boys explore some of the legal and professional ramifications and possible failings. It’s not all bad news however there are some benefits to look forward to, and some fun to be had.
Such a large and ever growing subject cannot be covered in a single episode, which is why the chaps have touched upon it before, and no doubt will visit it again in the future, but for now dive in and enjoy this thought provoking and frank chat about a technology that is (to paraphrase a certain marvel villain's famous statement) “Inevitable”.
