In this timely conversation, they unpack what we learn about friendship in Matthew 16, sharing 5 marks to help us discern as Jesus says to Peter, when we “do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns” in both our relationships with one another and our relationship with God.
Biblically, they unpack Jesus’s call for us to live as friends to God and explain how you are an enemy, not a friend if you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns in your friendships.
Travis and Kyra discuss how we are to encourage obedience to God and satisfaction in Jesus, sharing how our relationships with one another should first and foremost be faith building. Explaining how we are not only to point our friends to God but also bring them to God.
They challenge us to love our friends for the glory of God and endure and bear with our friends for the sake of Christ.
Ending on a note of biblical encouragement, they discuss how gospel centered friendship is togetherness built on Jesus that is secured in the truth that Jesus is our greatest most satisfying need and His Kingdom and will are worth dying and living for.
