In this latest edition of our Content with Media 'Connecting the Construction and Plant sector support podcast series' sponsored by used equipment specialist Ritchie Bros. Peter Haddock talks to Paul Skitt, Skills Development Director for P. Flannery Plant Hire and Training Manager, Sophie Francis, about how the business has made a rapid shift to online communications to support the people that are vital for the success of the business. Paul and Sophie explain how the move online is supporting future recruitment, training and much more. They talk about mental health, the roll-out of video training and even how the business is using quiz nights online to maintain contact with those working remotely. With people being the central focus of this edition, it's important to recognise that it's people that make this industry work and therefore we need to support them, bring them into the industry, put them on a career path for the future and keep them. This is certainly what Flannery is focusing on and it's important to recognise the continued development of people-focused support and communications as we move forward. Look out for more podcasts in the series to come and remember to look back to previous episodes, where we tackle the issue of rising Plant Theft and hear from leaders like Andy Street the Mayor of the West Midlands about how the sector can move forward.
