We close out the book of judges, and briefly study David and Goliath in light of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah and Saul of Benjamin. We’ll cover oaths from Genesis to judges, and judge them, the mass murder and kidnapping committed against Jabesh Gilead, and God’s response in mercy.

Join us at the valley Elah as Goliath presents himself forty days before David, the son of Jesse, that Ephrathite of Belthehemjudah cuts him down to the ground without a sword in hand by the power of the Living God of Israel. We discuss an Ephrathite, the root and branch of Jesse, the chronology of the story of Saul, Samuel, David and Goliath, along with differences in the underlying manuscripts and whether or not we can trust the Bible we have in English.

And finally we’ll compare Saul of the tribe of Benjamin, who’s armor David put off in order to conquer, and Saul of the tribe of Benjamin who teaches us to put on Christ in his thirteen Epistles.
