This week the panel has a broad discussion that bounces around quite a bit! After introductions brandon rust gives a tour of his new facility in oklahoma for Bokashi earthworks. The panel then pays homage to the Hash maker Frenchy Cannoli ( @Frenchy Cannoli on youtube and most social media) sharing stories about frenchy and their interactions with him or influences he had on their processes. Spartan Grown gives an update on caregiver event held this weekend at bigfoot lodge as well as a tour of a commercial grow facility he toured this weekend in michigan before coming on the show. Spartan also goes thru and reviews some samples of flower he got from homegrowers at events/traveling. The panel discusses the different implications of red stems, what causes them, and how to fix them. is it genetic? What stresses can cause it, what stress is good vs bad stress? The difference between purple stalks, petioles on leaf, buds or fan leaf purple and which are genetic compared with which are likely stress induced for example by nutrient imbalance, light levels being off or being overly dry and drought stressed. We go on to discuss what is a healthy plant, and what stresses can be positive for cultivation. We field questions from chat about IPM and if bortrytis and PM can reside in soil or coco. Kyle asks and panel answers if it is a good or bad idea to use PM (or bortrytis) or other tainted buds to make edibles or concentrates. What are methods of remediation that are being used, and what do we suggest. We discuss the implications of seeded vs unseeded buds and if it impacts highs, flavors, cannabinoid or terpene production etc. We discuss if lizards or toads and frogs can be used as IPM in your grow and how to deal with moths and flying pest that lay eggs and or burrow into cannabis plants. the panel also handels a question on how to manage the height of a light dep greenhouse plant thats been a bit overgrown and will likely grow into roof of greenhouse. panel gives their options on how to deal with the situation before giving sign offs.
