Sunday, January 26, 2025, We’re privileged to have the Men’s Keryx in Community (KIC) join us for worship this morning. Pastor Ryp's message is titled "Learning to Minister in Weakness." God gifts everyone who chooses to follow Him with special and unique abilities intended to build up the Church. Every gift is a form of ministry, even if many don’t see it that way. People often operate most effectively in their "Ministry Gift" when they feel their weakest. God has a unique way of making us strong and effective, even when we feel vulnerable. In fact, if we believe we can do ministry on our own and by our own strength, we are likely setting ourselves up for failure. Therefore, you are encouraged to worship and study with us as we explore the power and authority we discover when God uses our weaknesses to make us powerfully effective in His Kingdom.

Sunday, February 23, 2025 – Today’s message is titled “Living in Obedient Love” as we continue our study on 1 John, focusing on 1 John 2:1-6. As the title suggests, the word “living” implies a daily exercise or progression. John teaches that the life of a Christian is one of progress, moving from striving not to sin but recognizing that if one does sin, God has a plan for forgiveness, provided one understands the role of Jesus as their advocate in God’s court of heavenly justice. I realize I just said a lot that you may not fully understand, and that’s okay because that’s what this message is about. We will discuss what an “advocate” is and their vital role. Scripture shows us that both the Holy Spirit and Jesus bear the title of advocate. Both are essential, bringing sinful mankind back into a just and holy relationship with a Holy and Just God. However, they differ in function and location, and we will explain that. The end result of learning to live in “obedient love” is that we obey Jesus' commands not because we “have to” or because we “need to” but because we “want to.” When we reach that stage in our mature Christian walk, we can experience the Joy of the Lord as our strength, living a fulfilled life now while looking forward to a rewarding and joyful eternity. Worship and study with us.…

Sunday, February 16, 2025 – We continue our study of 1 John, and Pastor Mike has titled the message “Walk in the Light.” In this discussion, we will see that God truly desires a relationship with us rather than just a form of religion concerning Him. Our text is 1 John 1:5-10. He begins by making it clear to his readers that the message he is sharing comes directly from Jesus; this is not something John is making up on his own in the moment. He then declares something very interesting about God: He says God is light, and there is no darkness in Him. Of all the characteristics of God, isn't it fascinating that John emphasizes that God is light over other descriptions? Why is light so significant? That’s what we’ll discuss in this week’s message. Light reveals things hidden in darkness. John clearly states in this letter and also in the Gospel of John that men love darkness because their deeds are evil, and they hate the light. They despise the light because they are afraid of having their deeds exposed. But remember, the reason God’s light exposes sin is so that men can be forgiven if they would only seek it. God’s promise is to forgive all those who ask. Worship and study with us as we walk in the Light.…

Sunday, February 9, 2025 – Pastor Mike is starting our study on 1 John today, titled “Religion vs Relationship.” The Apostle John uses the first few verses of this chapter to lay the foundation for the reality of who Jesus is, affirming that He is both a real man and fully God. It’s essential for him to address this because Satan has been very active in sowing confusion within the early church regarding the humanity and deity of Jesus, aiming to keep “Religion” as the dominant theme in the worship experiences of false gods. John, along with the other disciples, had a personal relationship with Jesus while He walked this earth and died a sacrificial death to pay for our sins. This marks the beginning of the “Relationship” experience tied to the Good News of the Gospel. Consequently, John and the other writers of the New Testament worked tirelessly to promote “Relationship” over “Religion” as the way to God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The focus on “Religion” remains an effective strategy used by the enemy to undermine “Relationship” even today. In short, “Religion” doesn’t save anyone; only a “Relationship” with Jesus does. Worship and study with us and center your life on your relationship with Jesus.…

Sunday, February 2, 2025, Pastor Ryp Hankins delivers an inspiring and thought-provoking message titled “Living Under the Fear of the Lord.” Before you watch, consider this question: Would you prefer to listen to a message that you WANT to hear or one that challenges you to reflect on what you truly NEED to hear? Do you recognize the difference? Understanding this question is the first step toward living under the fear of the Lord. If you are only interested in messages that affirm your current way of living, without reflecting on whether it aligns with God’s desires, it may indicate that you don’t fully grasp what it means to live under the fear of the Lord. Pastor Ryp offers a compelling explanation of what it means to live not in fear, but under the fear of God. So, take a moment to settle in and pay attention. Enjoy the worship and be ready to be challenged by the Word.…

Sunday, January 19, 2025 – Today, we introduce our new study of 1 John by providing a general overview of this letter. Last week, we presented the Apostle John as the writer and noted that, like all the disciples and apostles, John was a flawed and imperfect person, just like us. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit could still inspire him to accomplish great things. This encourages us to seek the same inspiration from the Holy Spirit to read and apply the truths of their experiences and teachings. This is what we aim to uncover in this study. The issues they faced are just the beginnings of the same challenges we encounter today, and everything John writes about is applicable and beneficial for us. As we go through this study, let’s be open-minded to accept his teachings and learn to apply everything he instructs us to do and be. Let’s study and learn together to be useful in the Kingdom until Jesus returns to take His Church away.…

Sunday, January 12, 2025 – We are starting a new study on the books of 1, 2, and 3 John. Before diving into 1 John, it’s fitting to take a day to explore the life and ministry of John, the Holy Spirit-inspired author of these books. It’s important to understand that the writers of the Bible were real people who faced life’s challenges just like we do. We will see how God prepared John through his life experiences, helping us better appreciate the letters he wrote. John was one of the twelve disciples Jesus chose to learn from Him and participate in His earthly ministry. Along with Peter and his brother James, John was included in Jesus's inner circle. In fact, Jesus nicknamed James and John the “Sons of Thunder.” Although we are not told why Jesus chose this nickname, scripture reveals that both men were quite spirited in their early years with Jesus, perhaps even a bit too impulsive. However, as time passed and John faced various life situations, he matured significantly. A key lesson we can learn from John's journey is that God allowed him to experience both the extraordinarily good and the profoundly challenging aspects of life to prepare him for the mission God had in store for him. Similarly, we can recognize that some of our own life experiences may also be preparatory for the mission God has for us. Join us in worship and study as we delve deeper into John’s life and prepare to learn from his inspired letters.…

Sunday, January 5, 2025 – The first Sunday of the new year is always a special day to reflect on the past and to affirm that God is with us in the year ahead. He delivered us through every trial of last year and will do the same in the coming year. That’s the God we serve; He knows the future and has a plan for us. As we step into 2025, we are reviewing our study of 2 Peter, which we completed in 2024, as a way to prepare for what this new year has in store. God is powerful in His consistency, providing everything we need to build a strong spiritual foundation against the challenges the enemy may present. We are strengthened as we grow in God’s grace as we draw closer to His return. Join us in worship and study as we celebrate the goodness of God in our lives and the days we are experiencing. God is good, and He is great!…

Sunday, December 29, 2024 – It’s the last Sunday of 2024 – hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by once again. I say once again because 2025 is going to go by even faster (or at least it will seem to). I’m taking this week and next to review the two books of the Bible that we worked our way through last year. We began with a study on Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi, so the book is aptly named Philippians. This is one of 13 books written by Paul (14 if you believe he wrote the book of Hebrews). In this book, Paul didn’t correct any bad theology or address false teachers; rather, he focused on how to find joy in the process of living through every circumstance in life. What a timely and needed study for us in the times we are living in! One of the most significant takeaways for me was defining joy as truly having peace no matter the situation. Joy can easily be confused with happiness, but it is hardly related. However, joy is tightly connected with peace. This is one of the main points Paul makes: as we learn how to rejoice in all things, God brings us a peace that passes all understanding, and with that comes a joy that the world cannot take away. Worship and study along with us.…

Sunday, December 15, 2024 – We are finally concluding our study on 2 Peter. The title of the message is “Living for His Return.” It’s always a mix of emotions to finish a study of a specific book of the Bible because we develop a special connection with the writer and recognize how he, along with the Holy Spirit, addressed the issues of their time—issues that often correspond with those we face today. 2 Peter is no exception. Peter speaks directly to us in everything he wrote, and we ask the Holy Spirit to bring these messages alive in our hearts today, just as He did for Peter and his original readers. The overall theme of this study has been learning how, as children of God, we can navigate this life in a world filled with evil, living and working in the Kingdom while patiently awaiting Jesus to take us home. We are provided with the precious promises of God’s Word to stand on and share, as God patiently desires everyone to be saved. He uses us in our circumstances to show the love and grace of Jesus. Join us for worship and study.…

Sunday, December 8, 2024 – Pastor Ryp Hankins brings the message titled “Hearing the Voice of God.” As a good father speaks to his children, our Heavenly Father desires to speak to each and every one of His children. To converse with a person, one must be near that person. It’s the same with God; if a person is going to hear the voice of God, we must be in His presence and desire to hear His voice. We hear Him speak comforting and encouraging words. He speaks in multiple ways, and He always brings wisdom and vital information to make our lives more effective in His Kingdom. We can hear His voice through corporate worship and prayer. What a joy it is when we hear the voice of our loving Heavenly Father. Worship and study with us.…

Sunday, December 1, 2024 – As we reflect on our blessings this Thanksgiving season, we are also grateful for the many promises found in God’s Word. In our study of 2 Peter 3, we focus on the "New Heavens and New Earth" that God promises will come. This concept is beyond human comprehension, yet Scripture offers us insights that reveal it as everything worth living for. Imagine, if you will, what it will be like when all battles and sources of pain, misery, grief, and sorrow are vanquished, never to affect our lives again. When everything is complete and God re-creates the Heavens and Earth to their original form, it will surpass anything we can describe. Until then, we wait patiently and strive to win others to Christ, hoping to take as many as possible with us into this marvelous future. Worship and study along with us.…

Sunday, November 24, 2024 – We are continuing our study of 2 Peter 3, and the title of today’s message is “Loosen Your Grip.” If you’ve been studying along with us, you know that Peter discusses what it means to live in the End Days. We are those people, so these messages are very important for us to consider. As true believers and disciples of Jesus, there is nothing to dread or fear during these times. Today, Peter poses a fundamental question: If you know that the world and everything in it will be destroyed by fire, how should you live? This is a common-sense question, and Peter offers a straightforward answer: Live holy and righteously before the Lord. This involves a process of setting ourselves apart, discerning what is temporary and what is eternal. We must understand what we need to let go of and what we should hold onto. Where should our treasures be: in the spiritual heavenly realm that will never end, or in the physical, temporary realm that will be destroyed? Come worship and study with us……

Sunday, November 17, 2024 – The title of today’s message is “The Day of the Lord Comes as a Thief.” This phrase is taken directly from 2 Peter 3:10. Our discussion focuses on what the “Day of the Lord” signifies and why it is described as “coming as a thief.” We will explore various prophetic Scriptures that help us understand the events and timing related to Peter’s statements. The most important takeaway for true believers and disciples of Jesus is this simple truth: there is no fear, dread, or anxiety in everything that prophecy reveals. As beloved children of God, we are prepared for what lies ahead. In contrast, the carnal Christian or the unbeliever has nothing but fear and dread to anticipate. The “Day of the Lord” brings both judgment and blessings. Although this encompasses an extended time period, it begins suddenly and unexpectedly—like a thief in the night. For followers of Jesus, Scripture provides abundant information that indicates this is a season of joyful expectation, not fear. Join us in worship and study as we delve deeper into these truths.…

Sunday, November 10, 2024 – We are celebrating the greatest political comeback in our history and are thankful to God for granting this country a divine reprieve. We pray that this opportunity will be used to guide us in leading godly and biblical lives, both as a nation and individually. It is no coincidence that we are studying 2 Peter 3, which addresses the imminent return of Jesus and the presence of scoffers. We will explore Satan’s cunning strategy to employ deception, fostering a scoffing and mocking attitude that opposes the promises of God’s Holy Word, as we reflect on the prophetic time clock that is ticking down. Satan is working diligently to rob the church of the joy and anticipation that comes from prophecy being fulfilled, which signifies the soon return of Jesus. We need to learn to live joyfully through both life and death. As disciples of Jesus, there is nothing to fear or be anxious about. Jesus is coming to judge and reward; therefore, as believers, we are eagerly and patiently awaiting the Day of His return. Join us in worship and study……
