This week, in what might be the funniest episode yet, Molly and Emese are joined by co-stars Amy Schumer and Brianne Howey. They get candid about motherhood, career evolution, and their new film, Kinda Pregnant —which unexpectedly led to Amy’s latest health discovery. Amy opens up about how public criticism led her to uncover her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, what it’s like to navigate comedy and Hollywood as a mom, and the importance of sharing birth stories without shame. Brianne shares how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on work, how Ginny & Georgia ’s Georgia Miller compares to real-life parenting, and the power of female friendships in the industry. We also go behind the scenes of their new Netflix film, Kinda Pregnant —how Molly first got the script, why Amy and Brianne were drawn to the project, and what it means for women today. Plus, they reflect on their early career struggles, the moment they knew they “made it,” and how motherhood has reshaped their ambitions. From career highs to personal challenges, this episode is raw, funny, and packed with insights. After an extended hiatus - sort of like John Cena being away from WWE, but without all of the Experian commercials - the Cassock Club is back for the kickoff of season two! The priestly pundits of the wrestling world offer their picks for this week's Royal Rumble and share their favorite Rumble moments from years past. But before any of that, enjoy Matt celebrating his first-ever Golden Cincture win (thanks to some surprise picks for December's TLC pay-per-view) and - to the chagrin (or is it in fact genuine joy?) of Worth and Michael, practicing the sort of self-promotion and self-praise that he picked up from Cincture winners of the past. At the end of a very busy week the Cassock Club gets together to talk about AEW Dynamite - Grand Slam and their favorite moments from this incredible show. They also unveil a new segment and - perhaps resulting from nothing more than sheer exhaustion - spend more time than usual talking about liturgical colors, clergy vestments, and Episcopal churches that can be found in towns where AEW is holding shows. Hey Brad Meltzer: if you're looking to give us a five star rating this might be the perfect week to do it! Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
Late on a Sunday night (and for one of the hosts, early on a Monday morning) after a long day of church work, the Cassock Club rode the wave that was AEW's All Out into this special recap episode. Favorite matches, surprise (and expected) appearances and general feedback are all covered from the East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast. Did the show leave us happy? Yes, yes, yes, bay-bay! A little more than 48 hours from potentially the biggest pay-per-view in AEW history, the Cassock Club convenes to run through the match card and offer their predictions. Is this where we see the ghost of Adam Cole rise to haunt Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks? Does Lana show up to impact Miro's TNT title match? Will we see the arrival of Bryan Danielson ... or Daniel Bryanson ... or Bryan Daniel ... or Mr. Bella ... or whatever name he's going by? (Spoiler: One of the hosts changes up that name rather seamlessly throughout the episode.) Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
Where were you on August 20, 2021 when CM Punk blew the roof off of the United Center in Chicago? In this special post-AEW Rampage episode, the Club talks about this instant classic in wrestling history - the crowd pop, his genuine promo, the smiles and crowd surfing, and the way Punk's return seemed to be cathartic not only for him but for wrestling fans everywhere (like the now-famous emotional guy in the crowd). Join The Revs. Matt, Michael and Worth and find out why they've had "Cult of Personality" and Punk's entrance on a near-constant loop for the past 48 hours. After a longer-than-expected hiatus, the Club is back - and their return coincides with one of the most exciting times in wrestling history. After talking about how much the industry has changed in the past several months and the great things that could be on the horizon, our hosts - in keeping with their theme of being back - roll out their newest Trinity List of favorite returns in wrestling history. The Club takes a huge step into the big leagues in this episode as they welcome podcasting legend Nick Wiger to the announcers table. Nick is cohost of the podcasts "The Doughboys" and "How Did This Get Played?", a writer for the Disney Plus series "Earth to Ned," and both an Emmy Award and Writers Guild of America Award nominee. (In fact, Nick has done so many great things that we really recommend you check out his IMDb page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4696339.) Nick talks about his love of professional wrestling dating back to WCW and the things about the industry that appeal to him today (especially AEW and PWG). The Club also coaxes him into joining their latest Trinity List of managers and valets. It is a fun episode and we're grateful for Nick's time and enthusiasm in being part of it! Christmas time is here (almost), and so in this episode the Club gifts listeners with their predictions for this Sunday's TLC pay-per-view. They also offer their resolutions for 2021 (perhaps "wishes" is a better word) for how they want to see the wrestling industry turn around (spoiler: WWE is a particular target). If that's not enough, Matt manages to both open the episode well AND botch the finish. Listen and find out how! Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
In this episode Matt takes the unprecedented step of seizing the moderator's spot (listen for the He-Man reference as he takes control) to guide a lively debate between Worth and Michael on championship belts and the wrestlers they think are most associated with each. (Spoiler: Matt doesn't think there's nearly enough talk about Lita.) Listen as we cover some classic designs and revisit some legendary holders of various title straps. In this episode the Club welcomes Matt back from his brief absence by taking a deep dive into the career of the Gobbledy Gooker - for all of about three seconds (which oddly enough is almost the same length as his career). In the aftermath of AEW Dynamite, the guys talk about the incredible moments from the show, why it feels so monumental, and what it could herald as a potential game changer for the wrestling industry. And at the heart of it all? It's STIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGG! Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
In this episode the Club prepares for this weekend's Survivor Series - and the latest battle for the prestigious Golden Cincture and the bragging rights that come with it - by giving their match predictions (with Matt praying that FINALLY the Cincture will come to its new home on the East Coast). Have you ever heard the phrase "phoning it in"? Well, that's pretty close to what happened as some creative editing of the episode makes up for Matt's absence due to a busier-than-usual week. As you'll see, Worth and Michael carry on valiantly despite the absence of one crucial third of this wrestling Trinity. Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
In this week's episode the Club introduces a new Trinity list, with each host giving their top three favorite wrestler entrance themes. Here's a secret: it was hard to pick, and the honorable mention lists include just as many great ones as the main roster - even one with some truly horrendous lyrics. Michael covers a couple of his regular segments, and it turns out that Matt's "Talkin' Tech" wasn't quite as short-lived as we anticipated. Speaking of Matt, he's a little bitter about losing out on the Golden Cincture again and threatens a new podcast faction to change things in his direction. With all of this, by the end we hear that it's all Worth It (yes, that's intentionally capitalized, and you'll hear why). Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
In this week's episode the Club rejoices as Michael puts the Golden Cincture on the line for Saturday's AEW Full Gear Pay per View, and they respond by sharing their picks for the match card. Apparently, the feeling that Matt was broken in last week's episode takes an even sharper turn when Michael and Worth hear some pretty broken picks. How broken? Let's just say Stone Cold would have gone hoarse with saying "What?" over and over again. There's also the usual talk about international wrestling and the indies, and we roll out a new (and perhaps short-lived) "Talkin' Tech" segment. Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
On one of the most important days of the church calendar, the Club listens to Michael rejoice over recapturing the Golden Cincture and talk about how all of heaven and earth (in this case, his shower, floor and refrigerator) are rejoicing about this news. Why? #justcause. We also have fun with a first-time event, a watch along of a classic (and we use that term loosely) match from the 1991 Halloween Havoc pay per view. Michael covers his Heat of the Week, Talkin' Indies and International Minute segments, and we roll out a brand new segment: Mailbag Minute, in which we answer listener mail (yes, we were surprised, too!). Follow us on Twitter at @CassockClub or contact us at cassockclub@gmail.com.…
In anticipation of the next battle for the Golden Cincture, the Club this week rolls out their picks for Hell in a Cell. (Spoiler: Matt's contrarian picks mean he will either win running away or finish a very distant third.) Worth leads another great segment of "push or bury" conversation about current wrestling angles, and Michael covers his Heat of the Week and International Minute segments. There's also a very weak attempt at a new segment that's pushed and almost immediately buried by the very person who suggests it. As always the episode is sprinkled with the Club's usual critiques and honest feedback. Oh, and Matt does a little gloating about the fact that he drafted Rhea Ripley first as his cornerstone federation pick and was justified a few days later when HHH shared his thoughts on her potential.
