In Surfing: World surfing icon and 11-time world Champion Kelly Slater, who has dominated surfing unlike anyone else over three decades, is hoping for one final surf on the World Surf League Tour at Cloud Break in Fiji, before heading off into the sunset.
“I have put in for a wildcard for Fiji and we’ll see how that goes,” he said.
In SportsBiz: One of the fiercest critics of the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Tour, firmly backing the PGA Tour, golf superstar Rory McIlroy has been linked with a bombshell US$850Million deal to join LIV Golf.
Multiple reports say that the four-time major winner is considering a move to join LIV.
In rugby league: The Sydney Roosters have confirmed Joey Manu will depart the Club at the end of the 2024 season, joining Japanese rugby club Toyota Verblitz in a deal reportedly worth more than A$1Million per-season.
The 27-year-old Kiwi international has played 164 games for the Roosters to date across nine seasons, winning two premierships in 2018 and 2019 and having made his NRL debut in 2016.
