"You don't know the taste of freedom until you've experienced incarceration."

Welcome John Lee Bishop:

We’re joined on the Starline by a pastor and author. His story is unlike any other as one of America’s biggest pastors became a drug runner for a Mexican cartel. His book is “The Church of Living Dangerously” and we welcome its author John Lee Bishop.

John Lee, let’s go Beyond the Mic. Drugs, guns, tigers, boxing matches with your bare knuckles and getting on and off the wagon. This story has it all.

One Big Question:

Normally I end an interview with this, but I’m going to start with One Big Question. Have you forgiven yourself for the depths of darkness you fell in?

“But in prison, not everyone was normal. Some guys just wanted to brawl.” And you say later “... and it never ends well for you, or for anyone. Even if you win.” How did the way you fought emotionally and physically change through this?

Why was writing this book so important to you now?

The Rockin' 8:

It’s time for the Rockin’ 8, 8 random questions, answer with the first thing that comes to your mind. There is no Pressure.

1. Best memory of Saint Martin’s University?

2. What does a clean floor mean to you today?

3. If you could go back and change one thing in your life, what is it?

4. Favorite meal in prison?

5. Favorite meal when you got out of prison?

6. Who is the one person you’d like to have as a mentor today?

7. What keeps you up at night?

8. Best gift your grandchildren have ever given you?

Sneaking in Couple More:

You are out and reliving your life. Do you fear any retribution from the cartel or they dragging you back?

What’s the power of the love of your wife?

The Impossible Question:

How did this experience change you and your purpose today?

The Wrap:

He loves a clean floor, the hugs from his grandchildren and wants you to read his book “The Church of Living Dangerously” John Lee Bishop thanks for taking the time to talk with us today.

And that my friends is a Beyond the Mic Short Cut.
