This summer we ave been diving into selected passages in the Gospel of John. Today we will be unpacking John 20, specifically talking through the resurrection of Jesus. It is not an understatement to say that the resurrection of Jesus is the linchpin of our faith. Some have sought to downgrade the resurrection by making it merely a spiritual story, turning the life of Jesus into a fable or myth. Others have asked if the resurrection really even matters because Jesus's teaching and example are enough for us to follow. People do this because the claim is SO EXTRAORDINARY. Scripture claims that Jesus was killed on a Roman Cross, placed in a borrowed tomb, and was risen 3 days later. This is an incredible claim that requires credible evidence. This morning we are going to unpack the evidence for the resurrection and seek to understand what the resurrection means.
