HOUR 1 - For whom would children vote? California Senator Kamala Harris tweeted that children should have say in government, which is pretty much what you’d expect a Democrat to tweet. Mike suspects, with all the free stuff Democrats offer, we all know who’d get a child’s vote. Love is Oxygen for the Soul...Billy Hallowell of Faithwire joins Mike for a Faith Lift. They discuss Jarrid Wilson’s new book, photos of people’s beautifully marked up and annotated Bibles, and the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s war against Senator Marco Rubio for tweeting Bible verses. They’re also going after a small school in Oklahoma for having a cross on top of a campus chapel.
HOUR 2 - Hurricane and Whole Foods preparedness...Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert declared this the most exciting period in food history. You can buy disaster preparedness kits on Amazon, and you can use your Amazon Prime account to get discounts at Whole Foods. The latter’s prices are expected to drop on August 28 now that Amazon has acquired them. Walmart is also featuring organic food at a sane price. He filled Mike Opelka in on today’s show.
Exclusive statue vandalism report or…Mike Broomhead of KFYI in Phoenix got security cam footage after a local news crew obtained an “exclusive” story of a vandalized Confederate statue in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. Was it an exclusive or a set up? The security cam tells a completely different story than Bryan West of 12News. Mike Opelka analyzes the evidence.
HOUR 3 - CARL RUIZ DROPS FOOD KNOWLEDGE - Message in a Bottle..When Mike Opelka was on vacation in Cape May, he found a wine bottle bobbing in the early morning waves with a note and Powerball tickets inside. There was an email address on the note, so Mike contacted retired attorney David and spoke to him on the show. He’s been sending out bottles with lotto tickets since before the time of email. Mike said he “won a wonderful experience” even if the ticket was a dud.
