If your marketing grew like a dividend-reinvestment plan, would you still let a quarterly target dictate every decision? Agility requires stacking returning gains faster than the market changes—think compound interest, but for marketing campaigns. Did you marry the man of your dreams, only to now find alcohol seeping into every part of your family? As a woman of faith, committed to your vows, do you struggle to walk out your convictions amidst the chaos and confusion that has devastated your marriage? Do you wish you had someone to confide in without judgment, consequences later or let’s be honest, hearing the worst advice EVER from well meaning people? Despite your relentless efforts, do you feel betrayed, stuck in a cycle, praying for a breakthrough and wondering if things really will be ok? This is how everything was in my marriage for SO long!! I get it! In this podcast you will find hope regardless of your current situation. As you tune in each week your spirit will be lifted as you recognize that you are NOT in this battle alone. You will come to know that only through Him can you learn to model a much needed peaceful presence to your children, whose little hearts are also wondering if things will be ok. My mission is to share my experience, strength and hope with women like me who are praying for breakthrough. The Lord’s light shines even in the darkness of addiction, and the darkness cannot overcome it. I am a wife, a homeschooling momma, and a woman who has learned that nothing is impossible for God. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t had to learn all of this while withstanding circumstances that I would have rather avoided - but then would my faith be this strong without all the trials? You might listen and mistakenly assume that I have it “all figured out”, because if I am honest, I still can’t figure out how to keep track of my phone most days. However, I , without a doubt, have found a peace that surpasses understanding and I want to share everything God has taught me with you as you navigate this road as well. I have found that applying the Bible to my situation allows me to shift my eyes off the problem and to refocus on my God who can redeem and restore otherwise hopeless situations. Psalms 55:22 tells us, “Cast your burdens on the Lord and he will sustain you. He will not permit the righteous to be moved”. In the eye of the storm it is hard to have a right perspective when everyday you are walking on eggshells trying to keep your family together! I have a suspicion that I am not alone here and if you can relate with anything I have said, then this podcast is for you. Nothing changes if nothing changes, right? :) So, if you are ready to experience some breakthrough, listen up. You do not have to do this alone and you didn’t find this podcast by accident. Take a deep breath even when it seems impossible. Be willing to trust that God can do more than you even imagine.....right where you are today which is so far from where you wanted to be. I know you are running everywhere and doing everything for everyone, but THIS moment of rest is for you! Allow me to serve you a little peace on the rocks.

Setting boundaries in a marriage impacted by addiction is hard enough—but what happens when we set boundaries that backfire? In this episode, we’re walking through 4 common boundary mistakes Christian wives often make when navigating life with an alcoholic spouse: Boundaries made in anger – when emotions take over and clarity is lost Not following through – the emotional toll of boundaries that don’t stick Poorly communicated boundaries – the best of intentions, but instantly the defensiveness shows up from hubby! Controlling boundaries – These sounded so good in my head, but only caused fights and a cycle of NO change. You’ll hear real-life examples of what these mistakes look like in the home—and how to reframe them with love, clarity, and biblical wisdom. Plus, I’ll show you how to spot the difference between a boundary that punishes and one that protects. 💬 Have a question you’d like answered on the show? There’s a specific kind of heartbreak that comes when you realize the life you dreamed of isn’t the life you’re living—and that setting a boundary might be the only way to protect your peace, your children, or your sanity. In this deeply personal episode, I share my own experience of grieving what I thought family life would look like—and the painful but necessary process of accepting that I had to set boundaries in an addicted marriage in order to stay grounded in reality, not fantasy. You’ll hear: The emotional weight that comes before setting a boundary What it’s like to pray and wrestle with God before taking action How it feels to be forced into choices you never wanted to make The internal tug-of-war between loyalty to your marriage and protecting your children If you’ve ever asked, “How did it get this bad?” or “Why do I have to be the one to draw the line?” —this episode is for you. 💌 If you’re feeling torn about where to draw the line, you’re not alone. Welcome back to Part 2 of my honest conversation with my husband, who is now in long-term recovery from alcohol. This episode dives into some of the most painful questions Christian wives face when living with an alcoholic spouse: 💔 Should I keep bringing up the drinking? 🙏 Can I encourage AA or other recovery programs without nagging? 🔁 Why does it feel like we’re repeating the same toxic cycle over and over again—and he doesn’t even see it? If you’ve ever felt like something big happens, emotions explode, and then everything just quietly resets without real change... you’re not alone. We talk about why this cycle happens, what we’ve learned from it, and how God can open the door to true conversations and healing—even when it feels impossible. We also explore: How to invite your husband to open AA meetings (even as a recovery date night!) Why some AA meetings don’t go well—and why it’s okay to try again The role of prayer and timing in recovery conversations Encouragement for when you’re discouraged, stuck, or silently suffering This episode is for the wife who is doing her best to hold it all together with grace, but who needs real support, real answers, and real hope. Full Listener Question: "My husband admits his drinking is a problem, but he's not doing anything about it . If I ask him if he’s looked into AA, Celebrate Recovery, or Regeneration, he says he hasn’t had time and will look into it later. He’s gone to AA meetings before but says he doesn’t think it’s for him. Do I keep bringing this up? I don’t want to nag him, but it’s eating at me inside not to say anything. I feel like we’re in a painful cycle — something happens, we talk about it for a couple days, then we move on until it happens again . I feel like he’s just appeasing me in those moments because he knows I’ll eventually stop asking. He doesn’t communicate his feelings at all, so I have no idea what he’s thinking." 🔗 https://calendly.com/wifeontherocks/1hrcoachingsession…
In this special two-part episode, I sit down with my husband—who is in long-term recovery from alcoholism—to answer a heartfelt and all-too-relatable question from a listener: "My husband admits his drinking is a problem, but he's not doing anything about it . He doesn’t communicate his feelings at all, so I have no idea what he’s thinking." Together, we reflect honestly on what life was like when we were in that same stuck place—and what we wish we had known then. From both sides of the struggle, we share what was helpful, what wasn’t, and what conversations planted real seeds of change. In Part 1, we explore: The mindset of an alcoholic who knows there's a problem but isn’t taking action What a first conversation about recovery looked like in our home How to approach your husband without nagging—and why timing and tone matter The emotional toll of watching someone you love choose not to get help Whether your husband is just beginning to wrestle with his drinking or you feel trapped in a repeating cycle of hope and disappointment, this episode offers honest insight and encouragement from our story and our victory! Summer is supposed to be a time of fun, family, and freedom — but for Christian wives of alcoholics, events like the 4th of July, barbecues, and neighborhood gatherings can catch you off guard with behavior not anticipated. Expecting Family Time but your husband self sabotages in order to drink and you end up alone or with all the kids without him? In this heartfelt episode of Wife on the Rocks , we’re talking about the real effects of alcohol in marriage — not just on the alcoholic husband, but on the wife and the family unit as a whole. From grill outs where he’s the only one drinking, to family plans that suddenly unravel into chaos, to fireworks nights you end up attending alone with the kids… we get into all of it. You’ll hear: How summer events often reveal painful patterns in alcoholic behavior The emotional toll of being pushed away so he can drink in peace while you carry the family. The subtle (and not-so-subtle) sabotage that ruins what should be family time Why choosing not to attend certain events can actually be wise What it looks like to reclaim peace, even when your heart is breaking And most importantly, we talk about how you can walk this hard road with strength , with faith , and without losing yourself . But for Christian wives married to alcoholics, the chaos isn’t just out there—it’s also right here, in the home. How do we prepare our families wisely when our husbands aren’t in a position to lead, protect, or even participate in the conversation? Maybe you've searched for clarity in books, blogs, or online quizzes—hoping that labeling his behavior will give you peace. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re helping your husband or enabling his addiction, this episode is for you. As Christian wives, we’re called to love and support—but when codependency creeps in, it can be hard to tell if our actions are helping or hurting. In today’s episode, I share two simple but powerful questions—your litmus test —to help you decide where a boundary might be needed. These questions will help you check your motives, discern if you're stepping into an enabler role, and bring clarity to those hard, in-the-moment decisions. We’ll talk about how not setting boundaries can leave you feeling more like his mother than his wife, and how resentment often builds when we’re stuck in a cycle of codependency. We'll also explore the ever-shifting line between helping from a place of faith and unintentionally enabling, and why that line often has to be redrawn with each situation. If you're navigating the storm of loving a man in addiction and want to reclaim your peace, this episode offers both practical tools and spiritual encouragement. ✨ Want to be added to the waitlist or get more info about 1:1 coaching sessions? 📩 Email me at hello@wifeontherocks.com – I’d love to support you. 💬 Have a question you’d love to hear answered on the show? Have you ever wondered what your husband is thinking!? Active Addiction comes with all kinds of twisted thinking in the mind to justify otherwise unhealthy behavior. In this powerful episode, we delve into the intricate journey from a husband's perspective as alcohol steadily takes command over life. I'm joined by my husband, who courageously opens up about the deep, internal conflict he faced during his battle with alcoholism trying to prove alcohol wasn’t a problem. For many men, the path down this dark road is marked by denial, shame, and an overwhelming sense of being trapped. If you're striving to understand what happens when alcohol becomes the silent third party in your marriage, this episode sheds light on just that. Join us as we discuss: 1. **The Subtle Descent**: How my husband first began to notice alcohol's grip tightening around his life, evolving from a social pastime to a looming dependency. 2. **Living a Double Life**: Listen as he shares the internal battle between projecting a facade of control and feeling engulfed by the chaos within as he fought the truth that alcoholism was taking over. 3. **Denial and Justification**: A raw look at the excuses he made to himself and others, all while the addiction quietly reshaped his world. In opening his heart, my husband provides invaluable insights into the mind of someone entangled in addiction’s clutches. Our candid discussion is an invitation to wives seeking understanding, drawing the curtain back to illuminate the complexities faced by christian men dealing with addiction and offer a pathway to empathy and healing in the marital relationship. The impact of alcoholism on me was IMMENSE! However, my kids were experiencing all of this too through the littlest eyes and innoent hearts! I did not used to know how to lead them through all of this! Addiction really impacted our family! I have learned SO many tools and nuggets of wisdom over the years that helped me to navigate what our family was experiencing! If you are a mamma bear, you don't want to miss this episode highlighting our kiddos and their experience! ♥ Children grow up and their childhood trauma can still impact them years down the road. This is why the ACOA Adult Child Of Alcoholic Literature and groups exist. Our children will grow up to be those adults one day and the more we learn ourselves, to in turn teach them to navigate the trauma, the better their chances are to be part of breaking this cycle. Wife On The Rocks I Gaslighting, Addiction, Codependency, Al Anon, Alcoholism, Recovery
Tune in to hear ONE thing that God taught me during this painful lonely season. Being married to an alcoholic who thinks that everything is FINE is SO frustrating! Active addiction is exhausting. AA says that Alcohol is "Cunning, Baffling and Powerful" and it is SO True. The one person that I wanted to talk to was the one person who was also hurting our family, so who else could I talk to? I didn't want my friends and family to know how bad it was and they would all have their own opinions anyway! God convicted me on how to handle this very dilemna and I accepted the 30 day challenge. Try it for yourself and your situation! See what God can do ♥ Send me your QUESTIONS! hello@wifeontherocks.com Want to learn more about connecting 1 on 1 for support? Wife On The Rocks I Gaslighting, Addiction, Codependency, Al Anon, Alcoholism, Recovery
Today hear the ONE thing I did that helped me to start leaning on those that God had placed in my life. To bear someone else’s burden is a powerful expression of love and compassion, reminding us that we are not meant to walk through life alone. I needed friends and family to support myself and my children and ultimately my husband through this mess. Don't miss this episode! We all need each other ♥ God has a design to bear one another's burdens that was exactly what I needed! I HATED being in a position of needing HELP. I would rather be the person bringing the meal, helping you with your childcare, or being a listening ear. The truth was though that I desparately needed a support system willing to lift up my family, to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our mess, and to remind me that I was not alone in the lonliness of the aftermath of daily alcoholism. Addiction can take everything from our spouse! It robs us wives of everything we had hoped and dreamed of too as we wind up tangled in a mess unable to figure out what to do fast enough. I felt like an unwilling participant in the cycle that I was wound up in. It can be SO confusing! I so often found myself needing practical help and I HATED having to ask for it! It is such a fine balance having to ask for help and feeling like I asked too much! Send Your Question to the Show: hello@wifeontherocks.com Coukd YOU benefit from having someone neutral to confide in and begin sorting out all of the endless thoughts overtaking your life? Not sure where to begin, but knowing that something has to give? I will be offering limited spring one on one sessions for Wife On The Rocks listeners beginning mid-late April 2025.
