Coach Eagan discusses the team's success in the OVC so far this season. Her Lady Lions are 8-0 at home, but play 4 of the final 6 conference games on the road.. She also discusses Justis Odom's evolution to be one of the best true centers in the OVC this year and how the 'help-side' defense has evolved as the season progresses. Coach Eagan also shares a moving story about the team's student manager, Payton Toussaint - and all of the many tasks Payton does for the team. Lindenwood women's basketball head coach Amy Eagan announced the addition of Aaron Beadle to her staff. Beadle will serve as an assistant coach beginning with the 2024-25 season. "I am happy to announce the addition of Aaron, his wife Tessla, and son, Vince, to our Lion family!" Eagan said. "Aaron was brought to us through numerous coaching connections, as someone that is upcoming in this industry because of his character and work ethic. I knew immediately after speaking with him for the first time, that both of those things were true. His energy, passion and work ethic will be unmatched, and I am excited for what he will bring to the program on and off the floor!" Beadle arrives in St. Charles, Mo. after spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Hardin-Simmons University in Abeline, Texas. In three years, Beadle guided the team to a 71-13 overall record. Last season, the Cowgirls finished the year with a 26-4 record, which culminated in an American Southwest Conference regular season championship and a sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA DIII tournament. Paris Kiser was named an All-American by D3Hoops.com Prior to his time in Abeline, Beadle was an assistant coach at Wartburg College from 2019-2021. In those two seasons, the Knights compiled a record of 38-7 and he helped lead Wartburg to its fourth-straight conference title in 2019-20. Beadle coached one WBCA Honorable Mention All-American during his tenure. Beadle got his start in coaching when he spent three seasons as a student assistant at Stephen F. Austin. In that time, the Lady Jacks compiled a record of 73-21. Beadle received is bachelors in kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin in 2019. Finally, Coach Eagan discusses her approach to supporting career guidance to her players. It is clearly much more about life after basketball. Here are Coach Eagan's words from the podcast transcript. That's our number one job (career preparation and guidance). And four years for most of these kids, unless they choose to maybe go overseas, but at some point basketball comes to an end in your life. And you have to be ready to get out into the real world. And so any way we can help them prepare - I think just like you talk about players trying to get scholarships out on the floor in basketball or any sport, it's also trying to separate yourself from other people and jobs, right? And so anything we can do to build their resume, to get them internships, early in their career here, to get them to, I think internships are the best way to figure out if it's really a field you want to be in or not too. You know, I think it really is. And we want them to figure that out before they take a job and then say, man, I majored in this and I don't even want to do this. We're just trying to help them out as early as we can in their career to really start to figure some things out. And I think that was just such a great experience for them to really get their feet wet with it, to look at even some resume type stuff right now. And they'll be here in the summer a lot. So maybe getting them, whether it is down to see some medical stuff or some experiences within what they're thinking about doing.…
