OHTM - Classics Edition 2022

120 Moments

I call it an obsession. The reason being is that music, especially electronic dance music, has been a massive part of pretty much my whole life. It is very hard to imagine a day that goes by without me listening to something in the genre.

As you may already know, ATB’s “Two World” album was a very important album to me. It was the album that introduced me to another sound of electronic music, something that truly spoke to my heart.

And then moving forward from “Two Worlds” I came across, yet other albums, that changed everything again on my journey and played an even greater role in my musical taste and in many ways in my technical DJ skills.

The Magik Series and In Search Of Sunrise (1-7) Series was by far the greatest thing that ever happened in those earlier years days. These mix compilation albums mixed by no other than Tiësto himself became my University. I studied those albums like a scientist. However, what made those mixed compilation albums so special to me was the music. I truly loved the music, period.

So, for the 2022 Classics Edition, I will be playing some of my favorite tracks featured on those albums. Of course, it would not be possible to play all of them, but I selected I few that fit into this 7-hour journey. This is my attempt of paying some respect to those legendary albums that meant so much to me.

Steve Jobs famously said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.” This is also one of the reasons I enjoy making these special classic episodes. It helps me reflect on my beginnings to understand the present a bit better and look at the future with optimism.
