Good morning, Atlanta! Let's dive into your weekend forecast that's about to get a little wet and wild.
Tonight, we're looking at showers rolling through with temperatures dropping to a chilly 44 degrees. Expect a gentle south wind around 5 miles per hour, and there's an 80 percent chance of precipitation. We're talking about a light sprinkle of between a tenth and quarter of an inch of rain.
Saturday brings more shower action, mainly before 9 in the morning. Temperatures will climb to a mild 59 degrees with that same soft south wind. Again, an 80 percent chance of rain, so keep that umbrella handy.
Saturday night gets a bit more unpredictable with a 40 percent chance of showers before 1 in the morning. Expect mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dipping to around 38 degrees.
Sunday is where things get interesting. We're looking at mostly cloudy conditions with a high near 47 degrees. Winds will pick up, blowing northwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 30 miles per hour.
Sunday night turns chilly with partly cloudy skies and temperatures plummeting to around 16 degrees. Those northwest winds will continue, gusting up to 25 miles per hour.
Martin Luther King Day looks crisp and sunny with temperatures struggling to reach 30 degrees.
Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a 40 percent chance of snow after 1 in the afternoon, with temperatures hovering around 35 degrees.
