Welcome back to the Record Report Season 3!

For episode 2, we'll be tasting a little Dirty Sprite. DS2 that is...

While Trap Music was already growing as a sub-genre in the early 2010s with acts like Migos, Future was an artist to watch thanks to early bangers like "Tony Montana" and "Move That Dope." His 2015 run would be historical in many ways from DJ Esco coming home, to dropping both Monster and 56 Nights as a lead-up to his 3rd album, but DS2 was the album that would push Future to the forefront of the genre.

DS2 was a project that not only made him a superstar, but it also was one of the projects to transition the sound of rap to the current decade. His music was everywhere and (aside from performing at festivals like Made In America), even finished the summer off with a Drake collab that helped pushed Apple Music into the streaming industry.

We didn't know how much this new success (and pressure) affected him. Sure, DS2 was both successful and critically acclaimed, but after hearing his commentary for the album, you get a deeper dive into where Future was when he made his most known project.

For this episode, we choose our highlights, Ahmad drops bombs throughout after listening to DS2's commentary, and Future's legacy since his magnum opus dropped.

We also talk about what we've been listening to lately, protest songs, and juicing.
