The Washington Redskins pick up another L on their fourth and final preseason game of the year, losing to the Baltimore Ravens 20-7… The starters did not play at all, however, Haskins did, playing the entire first half, he really showed just how far he has progressed and developed throughout the offseason… The rest of the game was really just the depth showcasing themselves and trying to earn one of the few coveted last roster spots... In Episode Eleven, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins fourth and Final Preseason game against the Ravens. I battle with the fatigue of my continued discussion of the ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation”... I discuss the announcement of Case Keenum winning the starting job and how it will impact this upcoming regular season… I review some notable items that came up over the last week in regards to the Redskins and the NFL… And I take a deep dive into my last prediction of the Redskins Final 53 Man Roster. The Washington Redskins Season ended on December 29th, 2019… in a matter of days from the final loss of the year the team has a completely new power structure and is headed in a totally different trajectory… The most important move of all was the firing of team President Bruce Allen, without this move nothing else would have mattered, it would all have had the same outcome as almost all problems spurred from Allen's shortcomings. The second most important move that the Redskins will have made this offseason was the hiring of Ron Rivera as our new Head Coach, this move was not made hastily, it was not a situation where the owner just through money at a big name coach to get him in the door, this move took months of research and careful planning on the owners end… It all started with Dan Snyder identifying what attributes winning teams share, determining why they were successful and how they were structured… he then identified who would be the best possible candidate to come into that structure, take control and completely overhaul the organization and the culture. After determining that Ron Rivera was his ideal and top candidate, Snyder acted swiftly and spent a tremendous amount of time with him tediously going over every aspect of the organization and fully laying out his vision to return winning football to the Washington Redskins. After many meetings over several weeks, Dan Snyder and Ron Rivera agreed to terms on a five year contract to become the next Head Coach, allowing Rivera to be the center-piece in a Coach-Centric organizational structure, with the authority to have final say in all decisions (despite Rivera claiming it will be a collaborative effort). Within days of Rivera being named, almost all of the existing coaching and training staff had been jettisoned and new coaches began being hired… Here we are weeks after the 2019 season has ended and the Organization looks completely different, from the very top down almost every single position has been overhauled and there are a lot of new faces in the building, there are also some familiar faces in new positions too. One of the first hires and one of the most important pieces in this new coaching staff, is Jack Del Rio, who will take over as the Defensive Coordinator. On the opposite side of the ball, Scott Turner (son of Norv Turner) will take over as Offensive Coordinator, and returning from his first year as Special Team Coordinator with the team is Nate Kaczor (one of two coaches who was retained from the old regime). Below the coordinators is a new group of coaches, most are from Rivera's days with the Carolina Panthers, and some are from elsewhere around the league… In Episode Twenty-Nine, I will take an in-depth look at every change that the organization has made in the last few weeks, from the restructuring of the Front Office, to the complete overhaul of the Training staff, and finishing with the brand new personnel coming in to round out the Coaching staff. I'll provide some interesting details about each of the new hires and how they fit into the new structure. I take a deep dive into Ron Rivera's introductory press conference and break down some things that he said that really get me excited for what comes next… I close the Podcast with a look to the future, what these changes mean and what comes next for this team… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the beginning of the Offseason and the complete restructuring of this team… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don’t already please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always #HTTR Redskins - Washington Redskins - RedskinsNation - Redskins - RedskinsTweetTeam - The Redskins - Offseason Champions - Redskins --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
It is the bittersweet end to the Redskins season… we went out, just like we came in… with a tough loss to a division rival. This final game against the Cowboys was an absolute beatdown, Dallas was clinging to the hope of still making the playoffs (barring an Eagles loss), and they came out swinging, making this team look even worse than they were, dismantling the Redskins defense and closing their season with a 47-16 Win. In a game that was almost completely overshadowed by what will come next for this franchise, including some accurate breaking news from legit reporters, the typical here-say and rumors from people with “Sources”, and what was being reported on the National level; it was hard to concentrate on just the game at hand… The Redskins went into it down many of their notable starters and as far as I could tell, no desire to win the game at all… Both teams started flat and for the first two quarters the Redskins were actually in the game, but after halftime the defense fell apart (as usual) and couldn't stop much of anything, and the offense couldn’t get into a rhythm or get anything going. After this final loss, the Washington Redskins finish the 2019 regular season with an abysmal record of 3-13… But there were some bright spots coming out of the game, our Rookie receiving core (sans Terry McLaurin) played exceptionally well and are making a case for themselves to remain as the teams starters going into next season; Montez Sweat also played really well and finally showed signs that he may be the guy we thought he would be going into the season and finally one of the most positive things to come from losing, is that the team secured the second overall pick in the 2020 draft and potentially a chance to Draft the best all around athlete coming out of College: Chase Young (assuming that he declares)… In Episode Twenty-Eight, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins final regular season game of the 2019 regular season against the Dallas Cowboys… I provide a quick overview of the game, my thoughts on the defensive struggles and how it all stems from coaching, the terrific day our dynamic group of young receivers had without Terry McLaurin even on the field and I discuss the players who have shown enough this season to deserve contract extensions and the right to come back next season… I conclude my new ongoing saga that was “the Bruce Allen Firing Watch”, it went much shorter than the “Trent Williams Situation”, but the outcome was exactly what we’ve all been waiting for… I close the podcast with a deep dive into the changes that were made so far, during the first day of the team’s offseason, and a look ahead into what will come next for this franchise… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Seventeen Loss to the Dallas Cowboys and the Aftermath that followed one of our worst seasons in recent history… this season has been full of ups and downs, unfortunately a lot more downs then I would have liked, but not once did I stop enjoying being a fan and doing this podcast, it has been an absolute labor of love and I truly hope that you are enjoying it… If you are not already, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
It was a Giant Win for the Redskins in the race to potentially draft Chase Young… but as for the regular season, it was just another L. With this weeks loss to the New York Giants, the Redskins season record is now an abysmal 3-12… The real headline of the game was another injury to Dwayne Haskins, after playing exceptionally well in the first half, Haskins was tackled from behind (extremely low) and left the game, he walked off the field and headed to the tunnel before getting loaded onto a cart and taken for x-rays… although he did come back to the side line he would not finish the game, leaving Case Keenum to lead the stable of Redskins rookie receivers…It was one of the best played games from this offense all season, unfortunately the defense again was overwhelmed and they underperformed. Despite the D’s poor play the game was competitive, close throughout and came down to overtime. Ultimately Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley proved to be too much of a challenge and the Giants won on the only drive of overtime, beating the Redskins 41-35… In Episode Twenty-Seven, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins fifteenth regular season game of the 2019 regular season against the New York Giants… I provide an overview of the game, Haskins great start, his subsequent injury and all of the drama that arose from that situation, the continued defensive struggles and how a complete overhaul of the coaching staff, scheme and play calling is required if the team will ever be successful with the talent that they have on that side of the ball… I take a deep dive into the youth movement of the team, I take a look at what the future could look like for the young talent on this team and I share my optimism with the players that we have under contract for next season… I take a brief minute discussing the ongoing saga that is "the Bruce Allen Firing Watch" and how no matter how much news is reported, nothing looks to be changing at the moment… I close the Podcast with a look at the final game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys and all that is at stake for them… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Sixteen Loss to the New York Giants… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Can losing feel good? Well, I guess not… but at this point in the season, when we're not playing for anything other than player improvement and a draft position, this loss didn't sting as bad as I thought that it would… The Washington Redskins lost to the Philadelphia Eagles (37-27), which brings their season record to (3-11)… It is always tough to lose to a division rival, especially if it means that they stay in the playoff hunt, but this one left me coming away with a lot of positives in regards to the young players that finished the game… Not to mention that this was one of the best played games I have seen from this offense all year long, and by far (and wide) the best performance we have seen from Dwayne Haskins to date, he has been continually improving week to week and this game was the culmination of his progression since he became the starter for this team... The problem is that the defense did not show up and allowed the Eagles to run (and pass) all over the field… it was to the point where I had zero confidence that the D would be able to stop drives towards the end of the game… after several lead changes throughout the game, the Eagles were able to climb back on top with only around 30 seconds left on the clock, it was just to much to overcome and too little time, as the Redskins fell short on their final drive… In Episode Twenty-Six, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins fourteenth regular season game of the 2019 regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles… I provide an overview of the game, discuss Dwayne Haskins first break-out game, my excitement for what he will do over the next two weeks, I begrudgingly talk about the defense, the defensive coaching staff and how they ultimately cost us the game, and I tackle the youth movement that has been showing up big and played strong yesterday… I take a deep dive into the continued growth and development of Dwayne Haskins, from his development week to week to where he will be at the beginning of next season... I also spend a few minutes discussing the new Saga that is "the Bruce Allen Firing Watch", the speculation that Urban Meyer in the Owner’s Box brought, the need for a change in the front office, potential GM and Head Coach candidates and the future of this teams Front Office and Franchise… I close the Podcast with a look at the final two weeks of the season against the pitiful NFC East and provide my prediction for the upcoming week sixteen game against the New York Giants, which is a very important game for draft position and Eli Manning's career record… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Fifteen Loss to the Philadelphia Eagles… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Back to reality… the Win streak is over… and even though our season is not over yet, the Redskins were officially eliminated from playoff contention after a tough loss to the Packers on the road losing 15-20, and bringing their season record to 3-10. And as unlikely as our chances of making the playoffs were, at least it was something to be hopeful for, who doesn't want to rep their division (in the playoffs) after starting the year 1-9… Coming off back-to-back Wins the Redskins went Green Bay and faced (arguably) one of the best QB's in the league, the team touted that their Defense would shut down the Pack's run game and make Aaron Rodgers beat them, well they didn't exactly shut down the run game with Jones putting up 134 yards, but Rodgers beat us anyway. The game started like most games have this season, with the opposition walking the ball downfield on their opening drive and scoring, but again after going down 0-14, the defense composed themselves and stepped up in a big way, they played really well and kept this game close and within reach all afternoon. Unfortunately, the offense, again, struggled early and didn’t turn it around until late in the game, but it was all too little, too late… In Episode Twenty-Five, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins thirteenth regular season game of the 2019 regular season against the Green Bay Packers… I provide a quick review of the game, our defenses strong afternoon against a great team, the injuries that we accrued during the game, Dwayne Haskins development and continued struggles. I take a deep dive into the injury sustained by our 15th overall pick in the draft, the future of this franchise, our starting Quarterback Dwayne Haskins; and how the coaching staff handled the situation. I again briefly discuss the rumors that Bruce Allen may finally be on the hot seat, as its been reported that Dan Snyder is evaluating his performance…. and finally, I close the Podcast with a look at the final three weeks of the season against the pitiful NFC East and provide my prediction for the upcoming week fifteen game against the Philadelphia Eagles… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Fourteen Loss to the Green Bay Packers… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Do two games constitute a Win Streak? Well why not… The Redskins are on their hottest win streak of the season after beating the Carolina Panthers on the road 29-21. Well it's nothing to get too excited about, but damn it feels good to Win again, bringing our season record to 3-9… Although the game started with Carolina gashing the D on their first two possessions and going up 14-0, the young defensive group remained composed, bounced back and shut them down for the rest day finishing with seven sacks, one fumble and one interception. And similar to our Defense, after some early struggles, the offense came alive in a big way led by our ground and pound, one two punch of Adrian Peterson and Derrius Guice, the latter of which had a career day… the offensive line was getting a great push and to be honest both lines really dominated both sides of the ball… It was a great team win and was really fun to watch the team play with such confidence. It’s been such a long season to this point and we’ve looked so bad and lost so much that any semblance of good play and success feels great… In Episode Twenty-Four, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins twelfth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Carolina Panthers… I review the game overall, Dwayne Haskins continued development and ultimately underwhelming performance, the long awaited return of the dominant run game and our defensive front’s big day… I take a deep dive into the youth movement quietly happening for the Redskins, and just how much hope these young offensive weapons and defensive studs should give us… I briefly discuss the rumors that Bruce Allen may finally be on the hot seat, as its been reported that Dan Snyder is evaluating his performance…. and finally, I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week fourteen game against the Green Bay Packers… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Thirteen Win against the Carolina Panthers… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Winning cures all… right? Well the Redskins have finally one another game, this time beating the Detroit Lions in a close game that finished 19-16. It wasn't exactly a pretty Win, or a convincing Win, but at the end of the day a Win is a Win! This week's W brings the Washington Redskin's 2019 season record to 2-9, still terrible, but doesn't it just feel good to Win again (especially at home)! This game just felt different from the start, maybe I am just so beaten down by our season so far that I am numb to the thought of another loss, or maybe it was just the team playing differently then I have seen in the last few weeks, but this game never felt out of reach, despite the offensive struggles, the team had a different feel, and different swagger then we're used to seeing and it was actually enjoyable to watch, it was something I haven't felt in a while watching this team play… The team was elevated by some good defensive play and a stellar Special Teams effort, including a ridiculous 91-yard touchdown on a kick-return by Steven Sims. Haskins looked much more comfortable in the pocket, went through his progressions and made his decisions faster and was much more confident throwing the ball and stretching the field. But the ultimately Haskins was not always accurate and the offense again struggled, they unable to put up a touchdown; in fact they were only able to put up 230 total yards on the day… Needless to say there are some positives, but a lot to be worked on still… In Episode Twenty-Three, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins eleventh regular season game of the 2019 season against the Detroit Lions… I fully review the game overall, Dwayne Haskins continued struggles (which are fully expected), Just how great Terry McLaurin is as a receiver and how he may have been the steal of the draft in the third round, I discuss some other young players who had big days on the defensive side of the ball, notable Fabian Moreau, Cole Holcomb and Quinton Dunbar and Landon Collins… I take another deep dive into Dwayne Haskins, his play on the day, another reminder about how all that matters at this point in the season is that he continues to develop and progress as a player. That no matter what the outcome of the game he needs to be building off of his performances week in and week out and by the end of the season he needs to show that he has the potential to be the future face of this franchise, for better or worse, he needs to show he is the guy that this team so desperately needs him to be… and finally, I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week thirteen game against the Carolina Panthers… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Twelve Win against the Detroit Lions… If you are enjoying the Podcast (and I hope that you are), please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
A new low, even for this team… this Redskins team looked terrible, especially against an awful Jets team who beat them up for four quarters... The Washington Redskins suffer yet another ‘hard to watch’ brutal loss, this time to the New York Jets, bringing their season record to an abysmal 1-9… nothing seemed to go right for this team and they literally couldn’t get anything to work early on. Granted they were able to move the ball in the fourth quarter and finally break the 16 quarter touchdown deficit, it was all too little and too late… Although it is something to be positive about and something to build off of and hopefully a boost in Haskins confidence going into the back end of the season as our starter… In Episode Twenty-Two, I cover the good, the bad and the mostly ugly of the Redskins tenth regular season game of the 2019 season against the New York Jets… I review the game overall, Dwayne Haskins early struggles, how there is very little to be hopeful for on either side of the ball, the continued coaching staff woes and our abysmal record… I take a deep dive into the players on this team and how for the longest time I said that there is too much talent on the team for them to continue to play like this, and I’ve blamed coaching, but after this last game I am starting to question everything… coaching, scheming, front office, discipline and the players… I go off on a bit of a tirade about the organization as a whole, and how we aren’t close (at all)… how until we distance ourselves from Bruce Allen, nothing will change, and ultimately how this team needs a complete overhaul, from top down, if they ever want to be successful… I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week twelve game against the Detroit Lions (and take a brief look forward at the remainder of the season)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Eleven Loss, to the New York Jets… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
The dawn of a new era, the Dwayne Haskins era… unfortunately it started with the same results… despite Dwayne Haskins getting his first NFL Career Start, the Washington Redskins suffer yet another tough loss against the Buffalo Bills, bringing their season record to 1-8… the running game was working early on, and the defense, once again, kept it close; but the continued 3rd down struggles on both sides of the ball ultimately doomed this team... In Episode Twenty-One, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins ninth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Buffalo Bills… I review the game overall, Adrian Peterson’s great start, the defense's continued strong play, despite the amount of injuries, the coaching staff and our abysmal record, and I take some time to look at what our coaches are bringing to the table and if any of them are viable candidates to be on this team next year… I take a deep dive into my thoughts on Dwayne Haskins and just how well he did in his first career start… I briefly touch on the trade deadline, and how despite everything we heard, it was much ado about nothing… I review our coaching staff and how this group is not utilizing these players to their fullest potential, how there is a very good chance that not one of these coaches is on this team next year and how it is absolutely ludicrous for Bill Callahan to not come out and hand the reigns over to Dwayne Haskins… At what point will this team realize where they are this season and allow the rookie QB to take over and continue to develop, at what point do Wins not matter if the future franchise quarterback is not progressing and developing into the player he needs to become… this front office needs to take a long hard look at who is coaching this team and what they are truly looking to accomplish with the rest of the 2019 season… and after a very long hiatus I return to ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation” with some significant news… I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week eleven game against the New York Jets (after our week 10 BYE)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Nine Loss, to the Buffalo Bills… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR [#RedskinsTweetTeam] --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Here we go again… the Washington Redskins have, yet another, poor showing in a Primetime Game losing their seventh game of the year… after a tough loss last week to the 49ers, the Redskins lose another close game to the Minnesota Vikings bringing their season record to 1-7… The defense played well and did their part early on keeping the game within reach. On top of that, early in the game Case Keenum and Adrian Peterson were both moving the ball quite well, unfortunately, Keenum got banged up before halftime and went out of the game and into Concussion Protocol, forcing the Rookie Dwayne Haskins to start under center in the second half. The rookie QB's lack of experience or preparedness for the situation ultimately proved to be too much for the offense to overcome and the Vikings pulled ahead and closed out the game 19-9… Despite struggling in this game, Haskins does not deserve all the blame, he is a rookie in this league and is on a team that has valued it's other quarterbacks over continuing to develop him… this is exactly what Haskins needs to progress, he desperately needs in-game experience and to be given the opportunity to play, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes week in and week out… In Episode Twenty, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins eighth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Minnesota Vikings.. I review the game overall, Keenum and Peterson’s good start, Dwayne Haskins rough half, the defense's continued strong play (despite our record), Kirk Cousins' revenge game, the Vikings depth on offense and where the season goes from here… I take a deep dive into Dwayne Haskins development to date, and my opinions on what comes next for this team and the quarterback position... I touch on the looming trade deadline, and if I’ve learned anything from Bruce Allen’s tenure, this Front Office will not make any moves that will benefit the future of this franchise, despite our record and the amount of high priced veterans we have performing on a pedestrian level… And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week nine game against the Buffalo Bills… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Eight Loss, to the Minnesota Vikings… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really goes a long way in getting this podcast to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Well… we're now .500 in the Bill Callahan error… any momentum that the Redskins had from the coaching change was completely washed away in the tsunami bowl this Sunday against the 49ers, and the team took their sixth L on the year (bringing their record to 1-6)… Despite San Francisco being one of the best teams in the NFL this year, the Redskin's were able to hang with them the entire game, and kept it close to the very end… but it was all for naught, as the 49ers defense kept the Redskins at bay and left them scoreless through four quarters… Bill Callahan and Kevin O'Connell have stuck to their promise and again did not get away from the run game, and given how bad the field was and how much the weather impacted the game it was probably the best decision… Case Keenum had another dreadful game and never even got warmed up, let alone into a rhythm… honestly you could not have asked the defense to do a better job against the 49ers offense, they absolutely did their job and kept us in the game for the duration, this loss has got to go on the offense and their complete lack of production… In Episode Nineteen, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins seventh regular season game of the 2019 season against the San Francisco 49ers… I review the game overall, how much the weather impacted both teams, Case Keenum’s rough day and the Defense coming out strong and losing the consistently throughout the second half… I take a deep dive into the Quarterback situation, more specifically, Dwayne Haskins, touching on when he should start and why it is crucial to his development to play this year… Finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week eight Thursday Night game against the Minnesota Vikings… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Seven Loss to the San Francisco 49ers… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend… it really goes a long way in helping this podcast to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps … as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Oh Happy Days… the Washington Redskins capitalize on the energy of their new interim Head Coach, Bill Callahan, and get their first W on the year… breaking their five game losing streak against the Miami Dolphins. Despite the Dolphins being one of the worst teams in the NFL this year, they played a good game and kept it close until the very end. But the Redskins hung on and got their first Win of the Bill Callahan era, bringing their season record to 1-5… the new coach stuck to his promise and did not get away from the run game, finally getting Adrian Peterson his first 100 yard game of the year. On top of Peterson, Terry McLaurin had another fantastic game racking up two touchdowns and 100 yards receiving of his own… unfortunately that was really it for the offense, in a game that should have been a breakout for several more players, everyone else came out kind of flat. Luckily our defense started strong and stayed consistent throughout to help ensure the win late in the game… our front seven put pressure on Josh Rosen early and often, so much so, that the Dolphins were forced to yank him and put in Ryan Fitzpatrick to spark their offense… It came down to the wire, but the Redskins got the job done and Won their first game of the 2019 season… In Episode Eighteen, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins sixth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Miami Dolphins.. I review the game overall, Case Keenum’s rough start and just how bad he looked despite Terry McLaurin bailing him out several times, I discuss the highly anticipated run game and Adrian Peterson’s big day, and the Defense coming out strong and finally staying consistently good through halftime… I take a deep dive into the reports that Dan Snyder is targeting Mike Tomlin and that he is willing to do whatever it takes to get him, not only paying him a top salary but relinquishing authority to him completely… I also discuss how this acknowledgement may finally mean that Snyder has identified himself and Bruce Allen as the problem and allowing a coach (or GM) to come in and take over control of football operations to finally become successful… Whether it be Tomlin or someone else, the mere acknowledgement is very interesting and should be something to keep and eye on as the coaching search continues. And in a shock to no one, I mention Trent Williams, however, it was only in regards to being a perfect trade asset to lure Tomlin away from the Steelers organization… And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week seven game against the San Francisco 49ers (guess who’s unrealistically optimistic again)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Six Win, against the Miami Dolphins… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really goes a long way in getting this podcast to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
It's a new dawn, it's a new day… Big changes happening around Redskins Park… But let’s start with the game… The Washington Redskins took their fifth consecutive L of the Year against the New England Patriots… it was another brutal game for this team, bringing their season record to 0-5, and ultimately being the straw that broke the camels back and costing Jay Gruden his job as Head Coach… that’s right the Washington Redskins parted ways with their longest tenured coach in the Dan Snyder Era… the Redskins again came out lame against the Patriots, Gruden’s choice for the best QB to win this game looked lost at times and downright unprepared and the rest of the team again struggled throughout almost every aspect of this game… Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Patriots Defense did exactly what everyone expected them to do, they came in and they thoroughly beat this team all day, not only getting the win but out-coaching and out-playing the Redskins across the board… In Episode Seventeen, I cover the good, the bad and the consistently ugly of the Redskins fifth regular season game of the 2019 season against the New England Patriots. I review the game overall, Colt McCoy’s first start of the season and just how bad he looked, I delve into the non-existent running game, and the Defense coming out strong, then petering out… I take another deep dive into the coaching staff, starting with the firing of Jay Gruden, touching on my expectations from interim Head Coach Bill Callahan, the early decision to continue to sit Dwayne Haskins, how all of these changes will effects Kevin O’Connell, what I liked and didn’t like from the press conferences from both Callahan and Allen, and finally a way to early look into coaching candidates for the 2020 season… I give my opinion on Bruce Allen and what this team needs to do the rest of this season and into the offseason, starting with naming a GM that will take over football operations and have the latitude to bring in a new coach and coordinator accordingly and allow that group to have complete control of the players that are signed and drafted… And in a long overdue decision I think I’ve reached the point where I am done talking about Trent Williams for a while in what may be my last update (but probably not) in the ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation”... And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week six "Battle for 1st Overall Pick in the 2020 Draft" against the Miami Dolphins… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Five Loss, to the New England Patriots and the subsequent firing of Head Coach Jay Gruden… If you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
Another week, another loss…. The Washington Redskins took their fourth consecutive L of the Year… After yet another agonizing in division game, our season record is 0-4, and the future looks bleak… the Redskins struggled in almost every aspect of this game, they allowed Daniel Jones to shred them on several drives, the Giants Defense made our QB's look just terrible throughout and ultimately this team was out-coached and out-played... In Episode Sixteen, I cover the good, the bad and the mostly ugly of the Redskins fourth regular season game of the 2019 season against the New York Giants. I review the game overall, Case Keenum’s continued struggles, Dwayne Haskins’ rough NFL debut, the non-existent running game, the defense showing glimpses of hope and the mounting injuries… I take another deep dive into the coaching staff and how their complete lack of awareness and refusal to make any adjustment or changes week to week, will ultimately cost them their jobs… and I discuss a new angle in the outlook of trading Trent Williams and everything related to it in the ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation”... And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week five bloodbath against the New England Patriots… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Four Loss, to the New York Giants… If you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
The Washington Redskins took their third consecutive L of the Year... After another agonizing (to watch) game, our season record is 0-3... the Redskins came out flat, allowed the Bears Defense to set the tone for the game and struggled in almost every aspect throughout, leading to an embarrassing Primetime Loss on Monday Night Football... In Episode Fifteen, I cover the good, the bad and the mostly ugly of the Redskins third regular season game of the 2019 season against the Chicago Bears. I review the game overall, Case Keenum’s very rough night, the Bear’s overwhelming pass rush and the continuing trouble with this defense, despite the amount of talented pieces we have... I take a deep dive into the how the entire coaching staff is failing this team by under utilizing the talent that we have and making zero adjustments week to week, which will ultimately cost several of them their jobs... I discuss, at what point, we fire Jay Gruden and audition Kevin O’Connell and Dwayne Haskins running this team... and I begrudgingly tackle my complete exhaustion and resentment to the ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation”... And finally I provide my prediction for the upcoming week four game against the New York Giants... As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Three Loss, to the Chicago Bears… If you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offseasonchampions/message…
