At the dawn of the social media era, Belle Gibson became a pioneering wellness influencer - telling the world how she beat cancer with an alternative diet. Her bestselling cookbook and online app provided her success, respect, and a connection to the cancer-battling influencer she admired the most. But a curious journalist with a sick wife began asking questions that even those closest to Belle began to wonder. Was the online star faking her cancer and fooling the world? Kaitlyn Dever stars in the Netflix hit series Apple Cider Vinegar . Inspired by true events, the dramatized story follows Belle’s journey from self-styled wellness thought leader to disgraced con artist. It also explores themes of hope and acceptance - and how far we’ll go to maintain it. In this episode of You Can't Make This Up, host Rebecca Lavoie interviews executive producer Samantha Strauss. SPOILER ALERT! If you haven't watched Apple Cider Vinegar yet, make sure to add it to your watch-list before listening on. Listen to more from Netflix Podcasts .…

This podcast is about a few blog posts I had written not too long ago. I wanted to share both with you because God is with us in the good and in the bad. Even though 2020 has gotten most of us down, we are not out yet! God still has great plans for us. Armor up, warrior.
God wants us to approach Him with gladness and excitement, much like a toddler. But sometimes that isn’t the easiest thing. Today we are talking about my journey to Him on Shannon the Faith Blogger: The Podcast.
I’m not faking fine any longer. Thanks to @estherallen for writing this book and inspiring these two episodes of Shannon the Faith Blogger. I’m not faking fine anymore, because I’m not fine.
I did a 180 when I met Him. When I gave my heart to Jesus, He turned my life upside down and all around and I couldn’t be more grateful. Listen to it on the faith blogger podcast right now!
I’m not going to lie to you. I have fallen victim to trying to fit into the Instagram “Christian Mommy Blogger” filter. I post, and post, and blog and blog some more. But if I wasn’t leading you to the Father through it, it would just be a bunch of noise and nonsense. I don’t pretend to be immune to the “people-pleasing” disease, I’ve been afflicted all my life. But, when Jesus met me and saved me, I decided to shift my focus from me to Him. The moment I met Jesus was the moment my life stopped and His mission began. No amount of Instagram followers could change the resurrection power of my Lord Jesus Christ. But it doesn’t stop me from trying. I fall victim to following the latest “social media preacher” from time to time, too. But when the “message” of the newest preacher in sneakers is one of shame and self-loathing, you should know better than to consider it Gospel.…
Job’s story highlights a lot of bad days and bad breaks in his life. Which is sad, because Job was God’s guy: the guy who feared the Lord and lived by all of His commandments. If there was a college course in being a Christian, Job would have most certainly been the valedictorian. He lived such a God-fearing life that God and Satan got into a “She’s All That” sort-of bet over Job and his soul. He was stricken with boils all over his body and lost his family and livelihood and everything important to him in a matter of moments. His seemingly perfect marriage went by the wayside when his wife saw what a sad mess he had turned into; and instead of praying to God and asking Him for relief, she turns to Job and pretty much tells him to kick rocks in Old Testament terms. Give this guy his own reality show already!…
You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? - Matthew 5:13
