During our talk with Michele, we discussed her preference for designing period, future and fantasy costumes, being mindful of the silhouette and shape of a design, and her previous career as a fashion designer & stylist and the misconception of fashion being glamorous. She shares how she got involved in The Nevers, taking over for costume designer Jane Petrie and the challenges of designing for a sci-fi series like The Nevers and avoiding making it look too steampunk. She tells us about working with actress Amy Manson and the evolution of Maladie's outfits throughout the first half of season one, and shares with us why after she probably won't design for television again once she's finished on The Nevers. We also cover renting clothes versus making them, working with actors, doing period projects, and more!
