Dearborn Area City Election Heats Up

A record number of Arab Americans are running for office in the Dearborn area city elections in August. Three Arab Americans out of seven candidates are vying to replace retiring Dearborn Mayor Jacque O’Riley and 12 Arab Americans are running for city council. In Dearborn Heights, one Arab American is running for mayor and three are running for the city council. Who are the candidates for mayor in Dearborn and what do they expect to accomplish? Journalist Khalil Hachem hosted some of the candidates Hussein Berry, Gary Woronchak, Tom Tafelski and Kaletter Willis. Dr. Nahed Ghazzoul discussed the dire situation for refugees in Syria.
