In the final section URSA we bring you arts and culture from the heart of Berlin!
First, meet photographer, designer and writer Savannah van der Niet who has organised an intimate evening of poetry in Berlin. She shares her ethos of “poetry for everyone” and how her poetry night has grown from potluck and poetry at her dining table to the open evening of sharing it is today.
You’ll also hear poetry from their latest event at Backhaus Projects, the voices include Bianca Blades, Nur Koç, Hoda Zekavat, Annapurna Sharma, Eilis Scally and Savannah van der Niet.
Then, Denisa Harbuz (the Bear Radio intern) recently met up with local band, Agatha is Dead! to find out what they’re about and what they’ve been up to. The band is made up of four young Berliners: Lilly, Noah, Arthur and Joey whose music is characterized by big city life and the unstoppable changes in the world, all while delivering deeply melodic basslines, driving and rousing drums, gritty elegant riffs, uncompromisingly honest lyrics and raw, powerful vocals.
