The Season 13 premiere of #TheUpdate has the show mostly the same, but sounding just a bit different to keep things fresh. In the headlines this Thursday, authorities say an upstate New York sheriff’s deputy shot to death two teenagers who were in a vehicle that he thought was about to run him over. All 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have reached an agreement in principle with Google to settle a lawsuit filed in 2021 over the tech giant’s alleged monopolistic control of the distribution of apps for the software that runs most of the world’s cellphones. And a liberal group has filed a lawsuit to bar former President Donald Trump from the primary ballot in Colorado.
