We're BACK!

We kick this podcast off talking about Mike's trip to Disney. He had an epic time with his family, and pulled it off nicely - which is the direct opposite experience to what Ron has heard from others who have gone.

Through the Children's Heart Foundation Ron and his family rang the opening bell at Nasdaq. He discusses the experience, what it was like to be in the same place that Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates were when they rang the bell, and what it was like to see photos and videos of everyone in Times Square.

We then start discussing the main topic of the podcast, which is Amazon backing out of HQ2 at Long Island City. We talk about the effect this is going to have on the local neighborhood, what it would have looked like had Amazon actually come to LIC, and much much more. We talk about the state of politics in New York and where we think everything is headed.

We discuss Laura Curran and the recent tax reassessment that shes instituting across the county. We feel the new system is fair, but it sure comes at a really bad time with the SALT deductions being taken away. We think Nassau County luxury real estate is going to have some headwinds to contend with in the future as a result of these two changes.

We then break into the next topic which is all about Zillow. Zillow recently changed their CEO and is going all in on Zillow Instant Offers. We personally don't think its a viable business model, Specifically in a market that may go in the wrong direction.
