As people of mixed race, we’ve all had to deal with being asked, either overtly or not, to choose a “side.” At school we had to pick a place to sit at lunch, or act a certain way (or not), and even as adults had to explain to other adults where we stand on the BLM movement.
We each had different responses to these situations at different points in our lives. Now that we’re grown, we see the opportunities to change minds just by being ourselves.
