When I first got interested in Ayurveda, I thought it was only connected with food, nutrition, and eating well.

But it’s so much more than that.

Ayurveda offers a complete analysis of a person from different angles. This ancient tradition doesn’t only focus on the physical aspect of being a human but also the mental and emotional facets, as well as the connection with nature.

Today’s guest, Divya Alter, has devoted her life to Ayurveda and is here to explain some of its core principles.

Divya Alter is a certified nutritional consultant, educator, author of two cookbooks and a chef with over 30 years of experience in the Shaka Vansiya Ayurveda tradition. Besides, she founded Divya’s Kitchen, a plant-based restaurant in New York City (and one of my favorites!).

She also co-created Bhagavat Life, the only Ayurvedic culinary school in North America that offers the first Ayurvedic chef certification program. Without a doubt, she’s a leading authority on Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition.
