I believe that the social costs of the lottery far outweigh any benefits and that it should be recommended for closure by the Sunset process – but don’t place a bet that it will be as too many profit from it.

National media has picked up on the Texas Voter ID story I have been covering (listen to yesterday’s show here) and frankly it is clear that the elections director should be removed for being so stupid as to not advise the use of a provisional ballot in the cases at the root of the controversy.
