Lacking of mental health support, too many Cambodian women experience emotional crises as they navigate contemporary motherhood. Motherhood taps out women’s depleted psychological resources, making them especially susceptible to mental health issues. Many moms don’t have the time or energy to understand why they feel so awful. As a result, they internalize their feelings and do the best they can, day after day. Did you know that depression and anxiety affect one in seven women during the perinatal period, and are associated with increased risk of preterm delivery, reduced mother-infant bonding, and delays in cognitive/emotional development of the infant. We are so excited to welcome two incredible women who are supporting the strong moms and moms to be in Cambodia. Moonique and Molenna are the founders of In The PINK. PINK” is an independent digital campaign that seeks to raise awareness of conceivably life-threatening warning signs during and after pregnancy and improve communication between women and their companions. In todays episode, we will hear how PINK is supporting women and the educational programs they run as they support and contribute to the Cambodian community.
