Care of the imminently dying patient is a “best practice” of specialist-level palliative care. This podcast describes the physiological changes that occur in the period prior to, and during, active dying; clinically useful indicators and measures for predicting imminent dying; and clinical strategies that are important in the management of patients at the end of life.
