We dug up a 2003 story from the Washington Post on the firing of Bruce Cassidy. He was a young and inexperienced coach, and George McPhee gambled on Cassidy, who was fired after just 15 months with the Washington Capitals. Cassidy has obviously grown a lot since then, having made the playoffs in Boston in each of his six years there and winning the Jack Adams award in the 2019-20 season as the best head coach in the league. We also talked about the VGK odds to win the Stanley Cup in 2023. And, three players were drafted ahead of Colorado's Cale Makar three years ago - one was Nolan Patrick, who probably won't play again for the Golden Knights.
