Il y apprend à créer des connexions mentales entre noeuds de pensée, afin de lier certaines idées. Il utilise ce nouveau pouvoir afin de faire changer Hollis d'avis à propos du rôle des stagiaires dans la mission à venir. / Finding Nick's inconscious body and a key, Raz goes to his first lesson with Hollis and learns how to create mental connections to link some ideas. He uses this new power to make Hollis change her mind about the role of students in the mission to come.
