On this morning's Breakfast Show, we speak with World Ironman Champion and Elite Athlete Loubna Freih, who is embarking on an incredible adventure to cross the Alps from Vienna to Monaco. The project is called ALPINE QUEST . Starting March 1st, Loubna will be joined by mountain guide and close friend, Mélanie Corthay, as well as other elite female athletes who will join them at different stages of the journey. Together, they’ll cover nearly 2000km, traversing 65 glaciers and gaining 80,000 meters of elevation. The route will include cycling, ski mountaineering, and running through Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and France before finally reaching Monaco on or around May 1st. Loubna and Mélanie will be the only ones completing the entire course, which is expected to take around 60 days. Along the way, they’ll be joined by a stellar group of all-female athletes , including Gran Fondo cyclist Nathalie Monnier, ski mountaineering champion Laetitia Roux, and trail runners Maude Mathys and Emily Vaudan. This remarkable feat will be documented by director Aurélie Morrison for a documentary and followed closely by students in four schools across Switzerland, France and Monaco, creating an inspiring connection to the journey. Calling all budding writers! In this episode, Quade Hermann from the Geneva Writer's Group speaks with WRS' Katt Cullen about their Literary Prize 2025. They’re inviting writers from around the globe to submit works of fiction & non-fiction (up to 1500 words) and poetry (up to 50 lines) by January 31st to enter the competition. Winners will receive promotion, a cash prize, and will have the opportunity to read their works at upcoming Geneva Writer's Group events. The competition is also a fundraiser; entry into the competition is CHF 25 per for non-members or CHF 20 for young writers and members. The price is per entry (writers can submit multiple works) and that will be split 50/50 to cover the association's admin costs for the competition and as a donation to the excellent work of the Cancer Support Switzerland based in Geneva. A unique photo exhibition is on now at the Espace Candide in Ferney Voltaire. For many years Robin Bielik travelled the world for work – but made sure he had his camera on him.
