Last year, 51% of IRS audits were people making less than $75K a year says Fair Tax advocate

Steven Hayes, Chairman and President of Fair Tax, discusses recent news of the IRS hiring more than 87,000 new IRS agents and the startling statistics that in 2021, 51% of all IRS audits were of individuals making less than $75,000 a year. Hayes states that this is because IRS targets people who make ‘minimal income’ because they “can’t afford to fight it and probably don’t have the skills to fight it, so its very easy picking."
