Once you’ve found your first paying customers, your next challenge is figuring out how to scale your business. Here’s my definition of scaling:

Scaling is increasing your revenue at a much faster rate than your expenses.

In other words, scaling is NOT increasing revenue by throwing money at your business. Do that, and your expenses will quickly outstrip your income.

As an introvert, I prefer to have plenty of margin in both my calendar and my finances. Which means I prefer to scale in a way that preserves my profit.

Smart scaling involves making wise investments and selecting a business model that fits you and your strengths.
