Domestic hotel subsidies—Vocabulary

Subsidy 補助

The Tourism Bureau is offering a subsidy program to hotels that’ll be in effect from July 15th to December 15th or whenever the budget is used up.

觀光局提供旅宿的補助方案從七月中開始到十二月中，或者是到預算用完為止。

Register online 上網登錄

Individual travelers who plan to take advantage of the subsidy should register online first. 想要利用這項補助的自由行旅客，應該先上網登錄。

The Bureau said registrations can be made any time prior to check-in.

觀光局說住進旅館之前任何時間都可以去登錄。

Tour group 旅行團

Each tour group consisting of a minimum of 15 members going to a trip lasting at least 2 days and one night will be given a subsidy of $20,000 NT.

觀光局也提供兩萬台幣的補助給至少15人的旅行團，並且行程最短也要兩天一夜。

Bed and breakfast / Homestay 民宿

A: There are so many bed and breakfasts in Yilan! It’s hard to choose.

B: I’d pick one closer to a fishing port for the seafood.

A: 宜蘭有好多家民宿，很難選。

B: 我會選一家離漁港很近的，可以吃海鮮。

Outlying islands 外島

Transportation between Taiwan proper and outlying islands can be a big problem when the weather is bad.

天氣糟糕時，台灣本島跟外島之間的交通會是個大問題。

Amusement park 遊樂園

Admission to the amusement park is 200 NT.

遊樂園的入場券(門票)是200塊台幣。

Reservation 預定

Reservation for a hotel room during peak season in Taitung should be done at least one month in advance.

旺季的時候要訂台東的旅館房間，應該提前至少一個月預定。
