As we approach the end of 2022, we must begin to think about how to close out the old year and approach the new one. For this podcast, we are going to share ten things we do as part of our annual transition that might help you. First, we can all focus on our health because health influences our mindset and the stronger our mindset, the better we can serve our team. Second, we should begin organizing and preparing for the new year. It’s time to clean up our desks, organize our files. This may also be a great time to consider hiring a virtual assistant that can help you stay organized in 2023. Third, create a system for organizing transactions so we are prepared when you meet with our tax strategist in 2023. Fourth, think about using a service like Verifyle or box to more easily share our important documents. Fifth, work to keep things simple. Complex issues usually cause confusion. And a confused mind says no. Sixth, leverage technology that can help us prepare. Seventh, create a weekly time to work on our finances lest we run out of time at the end of the year and have to cram. Rushing this process leads to errors and omissions because we cannot remember everything! Eighth, create a properly labeled and documented storage system for critical digitized and paper financial libraries. Ninth, meet with an attorney and accountant for record keeping requirements. Tenth, make time to meet with our tax professional, attorney and financial planner. Remember that this is both a year end meeting or call and to plan for the upcoming year. There may be current year opportunities we can exploit but it will be too late if we wait!
