Jane Brown is filling in for Libby Znaimer today. First up, Jane is joined by the Strategy Panel with Karen Stintz, CEO of Variety Village, John Capobianco, Conservative strategist, Senior Vice President & Senior Partner at FleishmanHillard HighRoad, and Bob Richardson, Liberal Strategist and Senior Counsel to National Public Relations. Sources have revealed to the press, this week, that a non-confidence vote against Green Party leader Annamie Paul as well as a party membership review has been canceled. But, now that the party's dirty laundry has been aired and a very public dispute between its leader and top brass have become evident, where do the Greens go from here and was it a smart decision to keep things the way they currently are? Meanwhile, the federal government announced that Canada will allow American travelers who are fully vaccinated to enter the country starting August 9th. However, the same policy has not been reciprocated by the Americans. Why? And, should the full vaccination of all healthcare workers be mandated? Premier Doug Ford shut down that idea this week despite groups like the Ontario Medical Association insisting that it should be a requirement. Finally, vaccine passports have been a hot topic of debate among the business community and within the context of travel. Our strategists weigh in on the latest. Later, Jane Brown is joined by David Cravit, Vice President of Zoomer Media, Zabeen Hirji, Executive Adviser on the Future of work at Deloitte and Dr. Rick Hackett, Professor of Human Resources and Management at DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Organizational Behaviour and Human Performance, and Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association. New research conducted by Deloitte in collaboration with LifeWorks reveals a trend of senior managers and executives of Canadian businesses who want a change due the way that COVID-19 has impacted their work-life structure. A little over half of 1,100 business leaders who were surveyed from companies including Bell Canada, and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan indicated that they have been considering leaving their roles. Almost a quarter of those surveyed have expressed a desire to officially retire. Jane and the panel take a deep dive into just how this pandemic has pushed some leaders in the workforce to the brink and what else the research reveals.
