About Eric:
Dr. Verdin, president and CEO of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, is a Belgian native who earned an MD from the University of Liege and trained at Harvard Medical School. He has held faculty positions at the University of Brussels, NIH, and Picower Institute for Medical Research. Currently, he is a professor of medicine at UCSF. Dr. Verdin's research focuses on how metabolism, diet, and small molecules regulate HDACs and sirtuins, influencing aging and diseases like Alzheimer’s. He has published over 270 papers, holds 18+ patents, and is a highly cited scientist. Read more.
