You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Matthew 24:9-13 (NLT) “They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him...” Titus 1:16 (NIV) Hypocrisy Is Not The Gap Between What We Do And What We Wish We Did Hypocrisy Is The Gap Between What We Show And Who We Are “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness…33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?” Matt 23:27-28, 33 TO CLOSE THE GAP OF HYPOCRISY…. “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.” Matthew 23:25-26 1. Be Honest About The Hypocrisy In You “You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence” verse 25 “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 2. Seek The Internal Work Of The Holy Spirit “First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean” Verse 26 “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” Ephesians 3:126 (NLT) 3. Step Into Community With Other Believers “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.
