In this episode, we discussed about ‘Rasashaastra’, a specialised branch of Ayurveda focused on rejuvenation of the body, one of the prominent elements that is used in its process being mercury apart from other metals and minerals. Infact, heavy metals are used even in the modern medicines for a while now. Heavy metals when used in Ayurveda are required to go through extensive processing to reduce the toxicity. Ayurvedic medicines with heavy metals can cause immense side effects if they haven’t been produced with the prescribed procedures.
