McCarthy & Trump meet as hearing on January 6 riot looms

House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy met with former President Donald Trump at his Bedminster golf club just a day after the select committee investigating the Capitol riot said it will hold its first public hearing on July 27. Journalist and author Carl Bernstein joins AC360 to discuss McCarthy’s meeting with Trump and says the Republican party is “beholden to Donald Trump and Trumpism.” Plus, as the Covid-19 Delta variant is spreading, Los Angeles County in California has reinstated its mask mandate for everyone. Andy Slavitt is the former White House Senior Adviser for Covid-19 response.
