Description: Creating AI Trust is a very complex and hard problem. It is not clear what it is and how it can be operationalized. We will demystify what is Trustworthy AI, efficient adoption and leveraging it for reducing risks in AI programs.
McKinsey reports indicates companies seeing the biggest bottom-line returns from AI—those that attribute at least 20 percent of EBIT or profitability to their use of AI—are more likely than others to follow Trustworthy AI best practices, including explainability. Further, organizations that establish digital trust among consumers through responsible practices such as making AI explainable are more likely to see their annual revenue and profitability grow at rates of 10 percent or more.

Creating Trustworthy AI in Healthcare is critical. It can impact life and death and quality of life. We need Strategy, Plans and Action to Address the Privacy, Impact of Algorithm Bias in Health and Healthcare, and other aspects of Trustworthy AI such as Explainability. In this podcast I speak with Tamra Moore who is one of a handful lawyers in the US associated with legal issues on the use of AI/ML in healthcare, she also has a degree in Biomedical Ethics. I am Pamela Gupta, CEO Trusted AI and host for the thought leadership series Trustworthy AI : De-risk business adoption of AI . Dr Ma is a Fellow and the Assistant Director of the Stanford Program in Law, Science, and Technology and the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics (CodeX). Her research focuses on the translation of legal knowledge to code, considering its implications in contexts of human-machine interaction. She also teaches courses in computational law and insurance tech at the Law School. She has taught courses in Artificial Intelligence and Legal Reasoning, Legal Semantics, and Public Health Law and Policy. She has previously been a Visiting PhD at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School respectively. This 10-year resolution allows streamlined issuance of these subpoenas, while the FTC retains ultimate control over their use. This action aligns with the FTC's broader strategy under Chair Lina Khan to enhance its regulatory authority in the AI sector. The FTC's move reflects a growing focus on the potential risks AI poses to consumers, acknowledging both its benefits and possible misuses, such as deception or discrimination further committing to protect individual rights against violations through advanced technologies. The Biden administration, in the hashtag#executive order on “safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of artificial intelligence", encouraged the FTC to expand its regulatory activities in AI. The FTC's new resolution positions it to more vigorously investigate AI companies for illegal or unfair practices, underlining its ambition to become a leading AI regulator. The FTC has already initiated such actions, as evidenced by its investigation of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT.
