In Psalm 94, the psalmist cries out to God, longing for justice against the wicked who oppress the innocent and mock the Lord’s authority. He reminds us that though evil may seem unchecked, God sees all, hears all, and will bring perfect judgment in His time. While the wicked will ultimately face His wrath, those who trust in Him find refuge, strength, and peace even in the midst of turmoil. As you go into this week, trust in the justice of God, release the burden of vengeance, and ask yourself—are you resting in His righteousness or trying to fight battles that only He can win?…
In Psalm 93, we’re reminded that no matter how loud the storm gets, our God reigns. His throne is unshaken, His Word is sure, and His power is greater than any wave that rises against us. Whether we’re stepping out like Peter on the water or walking through on dry land like Israel at the Red Sea, it all comes down to trusting the One who holds back the waves. This week, let’s challenge ourselves to praise Him in the storm, not just after it passes.…
In Psalm 92, we find a song for the Sabbath—God’s reminder to pause, reflect, and praise. It teaches us that gratitude isn’t just an obligation but a lifeline, anchoring us in His faithfulness. Praise shifts our focus from life’s chaos to God’s constancy, guarding our hearts with peace. What would change if you began and ended each day showing forth His lovingkindness and faithfulness?…
In Psalm 91, we're gonna have a little "Praise Break". This is where the psalmist just praises God for all he does for us when we live according to his commandments, when we are obedient to him. God is GOOD! There's just no way around it. And the way he rewards us for simply responding to his love for us with obedience, well, that is the definition of unmerited favor. We should want to share it with everyone, we should want to praise him all the time? Why? Why are we so thankful? Why are we so in awe of a God who pours out his love to us, protects us and blesses us? IYKYK. Don't you want to know?…
In Psalm 90, we'll explore the trials of our fleeting days, the hope of eternal rewards, and the call to live boldly for His glory. Find encouragement to trust God through every moment and season. Life is brief, but God’s purpose is eternal.
In Psalm 89, we explore the psalmist’s celebration of God’s faithfulness, covenant promises, and sovereign power, drawing parallels to the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6. It always amazes me how the Bible is so interlinked and woven together in such a way that can only be described as divine.
In Psalm 88, Heman the Ezrahite pours out his despair to Jehovah, clinging to God’s covenant faithfulness even in darkness. This episode explores the hope found in bringing our deepest sorrows to the Lord, trusting His unchanging presence even when resolution doesn’t come.
In Psalm 87, we see Zion celebrated as the city of God, a symbol of His presence, promises, and eternal purpose. The psalm points to the joy and life found in God alone and reveals His heart for all nations to be counted as His own. Let's explore how this psalm calls us to fix our eyes on eternity, share the hope of the Gospel, and draw deeply from the living water only He can provide.…
In Psalm 86 we uncover David’s bold yet humble prayer, reflecting a deep trust in God’s promises. Discover the beauty of God’s mercy, His readiness to forgive, and His desire for an intimate relationship with His children. Together, we'll reflect on the transformative power of lifting our souls to Him in worship and surrender. Whether we’re facing uncertainty, trials, or a fresh new year, this episode offers encouragement from God’s Word to walk boldly in His truth. Join us as we embrace the great privilege of calling upon the name of the Lord and resting in His unwavering faithfulness.…
This Christmas episode reflects on the fulfilled prophecy of Christ’s birth, highlighting the miracle of Emmanuel—God with us. From the promise in Isaiah to the manger in Bethlehem, we celebrate the greatest gift of the season: Jesus, the Savior who came to redeem and reconcile us to God. As we exchange gifts and gather with loved ones, we are reminded that the true glory of Christmas lies in the humble arrival of the King who brought eternal hope, peace, and salvation. Merry Christmas!!…
In Psalm 85, we see prophetic connections to Christ as the fulfillment of God’s mercy, truth, righteousness, and peace. The psalm reflects Israel’s gratitude for deliverance from captivity and points forward to the ultimate redemption found in Jesus, who bore God’s wrath and secured salvation through His death and resurrection. Through New Testament parallels, the psalmist’s prayer for revival and salvation finds its answer in Christ, the Word made flesh, who imputes righteousness to believers. As we head into the Christmas season, the greatest gift we can celebrate is the gift of salvation through Christ, who embodies the mercy and truth of God and reconciles us to Him.…
In Psalm 84, we see the psalmist’s deep yearning for the house of the Lord and the companionship of his fellow believers. Even though he is separated from the tabernacle, his desire to be in God’s presence and among God’s people is strong, illustrating a longing that goes beyond physical attendance. This passion reflects the importance of church community as a place of spiritual refreshment and strength, a place where believers worship, support, and stand together in the battles of faith. We're reminded that our desire to worship among believers is a testimony in itself. Even in separation, God sees our hearts and turns our longing into strength.…
In Psalms 81-83, we hear God’s call to obedience, a reminder of our responsibilities, and His promise of protection, which stirs us to look deeply at our own lives. This episode explores how these psalms mirror our personal battles with faithfulness and trust, much like Israel’s ongoing struggle with dependence on God. Through this conversation, we dive into the simplicity of trusting and obeying, the strength found in walking with God, and the solace He offers when we find ourselves drifting. As we study, we’re reminded that His mercy meets us every time we return, and His Spirit strengthens us in every step forward.…
Psalm 80 is a psalm that speaks to our hearts like a gentle but direct guide, calling us to let God lead, to heed His instruction, to remember His blessings, and to see our weakness—all so that we might be brought closer to Him. As we move through, it is a poignant reminder that we rarely choose to turn to God on our own when we need him most, so we are instructed to ask to be turned to Him so that we can be led, strengthened and restored. Turn us again, oh LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.…
In Psalm 78, later Asaph rehearses (recounts) for Israel everything that God has done for them. He highlights all the blessings God had brought them through, even when they didn't deserve it. This may be something we need to practice more in our own lives, I know I surely need it in mine. Do we recount enough and keep record of all God has done for us? Do we read and reread the gospel account, acknowledging the blessings he has bestowed on us who are so unworthy, but who he has made worthy through his Son? There's a challenge at the end of the episode for November and my prayer is that you'll join me in it.…
