"If you keep trying to pour your new self into your old situations, something is going to burst."- Wesleyne Word of the Day No one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins; and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.-Mark 2:22 Summary When you’re working on becoming a new version of yourself, it’s crucial to understand that trying to pour that new self into old situations just won’t work. Have you ever felt like you were making progress, only to find yourself slipping back into old habits or environments? If you keep going back to the same relationships or places that hold you back, all that hard work you’ve done on yourself can break. As you heal and grow, you deserve to be in new spaces, surrounded by new people who uplift you and understand your journey. So, I encourage you to embrace the new wine God has poured into you. Seek out those new environments and friendships that reflect the growth you’re experiencing. Remember, you’re not meant to go back; you’re meant to move forward. "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much."- Wesleyne Word of the Day Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.-Luke 16:10 Summary Have you ever been in a situation where you had just enough food, just enough gas, or just enough money to get by? In those moments, it’s easy to slip into a scarcity mindset, where we hold onto everything tightly because we fear there won’t be enough. But I want to challenge you to let go of that mindset. I remember a time when I had very little, but a friend was going through a crisis. I felt compelled to sponsor her therapy sessions, even though I wasn’t living in overflow myself. Do you know what happened next? God blessed me abundantly! It showed me that when we’re faithful with our little, God can turn it into something much greater. So I encourage you, when you receive your paycheck, give back to God first. Don’t wait to see what’s left over. Remember, if you can’t trust God with the little, how will you trust Him when He gives you more? Let’s embrace generosity and trust in His provision and you’ll be amazed at what can happen when you do! Takeaways - Trusting God with what you have leads to greater blessings. - A scarcity mindset limits your ability to see and receive God’s provision. - Generosity, even in small amounts, can create a significant impact. - Always prioritize giving God His portion off the top of your income. - Being faithful with little prepares you for greater responsibilities. "If we turn our hearts away from God, we stop producing fruit."- Wesleyne Word of the Day: Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.- John 15:4-5 Summary Just like a branch needs to remain attached to the vine to produce fruit, we need to stay rooted in our relationship with God to live fruitful lives. When we lean into Him, we allow God to fill those empty spaces in our hearts and guide us in everything we do. When a branch is cut off, it withers and dies. That’s what happens to us spiritually if we turn away from God. We become disconnected and stop producing the good things in our lives. But if we remain in Him, He promises to remain in us. So let’s embrace that connection, trust Him, and remember that with God, we can do so much more. Stay rooted in faith, and see the amazing fruit that comes from that relationship. Takeaways - Remaining connected to God is essential for a fruitful life. - Just as a branch cannot thrive apart from the vine, we cannot flourish without God. - Leaning into God fills the gaps in our hearts and strengthens our faith. - Disconnection from God leads to spiritual withering. - Stay rooted in your relationship with God to experience His strength and guidance. Chapters 00:00 - The Importance of Connection 01:15 - Understanding Our Role as Branches 02:45 - The Consequences of Disconnection 04:00 - Leaning into God for Strength 05:30 - Trusting God to Bear Fruit We want to hear your thoughts on today’s episode! It’s about showing up for one another, being consistent, and using words that uplift instead of hurt. True love is patient, kind, and exhibits self-control. It doesn’t mean putting yourself in harm's way or accepting neglect. I encourage you to pray and ask God to soften your heart toward those who have hurt you. Remember, God commanded us to love each other, but He never said we had to endure pain or rejection. So let’s embrace love, set healthy boundaries, and trust God to guide us in our relationships. We replay scenarios, feel anger, and beat ourselves up over what could have been. However, the passage from Joel reminds us not to focus on these external expressions of pain. Instead, we should tear our hearts open to God, allowing His mercy and compassion to fill the void. God’s unfailing love is unlike any earthly love; it forgives without keeping score and embraces us unconditionally. “In moments of hope and affliction, our joy and patience are the keys that unlock God’s presence in our lives.”- Wesleyne Word of the Day Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer - Romans 12:12 Summary When we think about hope, we often focus on what we’re waiting for, like landing that new job or achieving a weight goal. “Our God will never forsake us. He has a hedge of protection surrounding us, always walking with us and filling the gaps inside us.”- Wesleyne Word of the Day: "No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will never leave you nor forsake you."-Joshua 1:5 Summary In this episode, we explore the profound assurance that God will never leave us or forsake us, as emphasized in both Joshua 1:5 and Hebrews 13:5. This promise signifies that no matter our actions or circumstances, God's presence remains constant. Forsaking ourselves through self-condemnation is not a reflection of God’s stance towards us. He is always present to support, guide, and celebrate with us, despite our flaws and struggles. Understanding this truth helps us distinguish between God's voice and the enemy’s lies, reinforcing that our worth and relationship with God are secure. "Being a righteous person is not about quoting scriptures or attending church every week. It’s about being truly connected to God, repenting daily, and being filled with the Holy Spirit."- Wesleyne Bible Verse as the Word of the Day "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."- James 5:16 Summary This episode delves into the profound meaning of James 5:16, emphasizing the importance of confessing sins and the power of righteous prayer. Wesleyne discusses how this verse is often misinterpreted, leading to practices that stray from its true intent. Instead of using confession as a means for judgment or atonement by another person, it should be a way to seek support and prayer from fellow believers. True righteousness, she explains, comes from being deeply connected to God, repenting, and allowing the Holy Spirit to work within us. When we pray for others, not only do we help them, but we also find healing ourselves, as we humble ourselves before God and allow His power to work through us. The core message of this episode is the importance of understanding and applying scripture in its full context, especially when it comes to the practice of confession and prayer. Wesleyne urges listeners to not only seek wisdom in their faith but also to be the kind of righteous individuals who can offer powerful and effective prayers for others. This righteousness is not about external religious practices but about an internal connection with God, daily repentance, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. The act of praying for others is as much about healing ourselves as it is about helping those we pray for. Key Takeaways Confession should be a means of seeking support, not judgment. True righteousness is about being connected to God and filled with the Holy Spirit. Praying for others can bring healing to both the person praying and the one being prayed for.
