Together, we're redefining what it means, looks and feels like, to be doing "woman's work" in the world today. With confidence and the occasional rant. From boardrooms to studios, kitchens to coding dens, we explore the multifaceted experiences of today's woman, confirming that the new definition of "woman's work" is whatever feels authentic, true, and right for you. We're shedding expectations, setting aside the "shoulds", giving our finger to the "supposed tos". We're torching the old playbook and writing our own rules. Who runs the world? You decide. Nick Lanari (vocals) and Noah Rabe (guitar) of Summer Years join Stefan Aronsen to talk about the band's influences, favorite venues to play, talk about some tour horror stories, and share what’s to come for the band in 2022. Despite only having a handful of songs to their name, they’re already showing themselves capable of making great music, with tunes like This Light , and The Picture You Paint , both real earworms that capture the spirit of late-90s pop-punk, and tell you that Summer Years is here to stay.…
Season three and 2021 went by super fast and I didn't produce as many podcast episodes as I had planned. So in 2022, we're going to make up for this by releasing lots of 15-minute episodes. We've learned that people prefer short-form content over long 1hr episodes. I will continue to create quick witty interviews with a large variety of indie musicians. Like and subscribe, I'm looking forward to sharing new content with you.…
This week, join Flynt Flossy and Stefan for a more laid-back interview, in which they discuss everything from Flossy’s new venture as a writer, his latest singles, and how the pandemic affected his career, to what exactly is fruit punch? And, what is the Stefan-Flossy drink? Flynt Flossy has accomplished so much during the course of his career that you’d be forgiven to think he's been around for longer than 12 years. Having already under his belt his own record label, two solo albums, a handful of viral hits, a podcast, collaborations with the likes of Childish Gambino and Flula, and most recently his own self-help book, Turn Life's Lemons into Lemonade . North Bay friends YngSolomon and The7thLetter like to party on the beach. In fact, their parties on Ocean Beach are legendary and their love of the west coast is evident. They make music that brings people together and fuels the good vibes. I first discovered the artists by hearing their song California Days via a 1 min video on Instagram. Instantly hooked, I searched them out on YouTube, then invited them to be on the podcast. BIO: The Collective Conscious, featuring YngSolomon & The 7thLetter is a California-based conscious Hip-Hop duo, heavily influenced by the Nichiren Buddhist philosophy of personal empowerment and love. Their lyrics are encrypted with the cheat codes on life. They are here to brainwash you into believing in yourself.…
Joshua McClain and Dylan Charles Germick of Planet Booty are friends, in fact, Dylan suggested I have Josh on my podcast. Not because Josh makes body-positive, pro-sex, dance music for your ass cheeks, because he doesn't. Josh was recommended because he's F'n good musician whose popularity grew drastically due to his weekly Morning Cello streams during this Covid Pandemic. He provides the entertainment we all need during the shelter at home fiasco. BIO: Joshua is a renowned contemporary cellist, composer, artist, and filmmaker based in Oakland, CA. He is best known for his unbridled style of cello playing which, using a looping pedal and effects processor, creates intense, otherworldly soundscapes.…

He has a band name too long for social media so Ryan Hamilton And The Harlequin Ghosts just goes by @theryanhamilton . Currently based in England, but from Texas, this singer-songwriter recently released a new single called Jesus & John Lennon . Formed in England after his previous band started to lose steam, their first single in 2016 was received quite well. On our podcast, we talked about this, plus his influences like Tom Petty . Ryan gives shout outs to some bands he admires, such as Jon Gaskin of Fort Hope , Chrissy Barnacle , and Maren Morris . We imagined future festivals and shows he'd like to play. We created an imaginary tour that he would love to book after the pandemic with Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real . It was already an amazing show, but we made it even better by ending with a short set of acoustic music by Ryan Hamilton. This episode was recorded on July 28nd, 2020 - Stefan Aronen was in Portland, Oregon and Ryan Hamilton was in Fort Worth, Texas.…
"Ladies and gentlemen and everyone in between. We are here today to celebrate life, love, funk, sweat, but most importantly we're here to celebrate BOOTAY. No matter your age, your shape, your color, your creed, your sexual orientation, your gender, or lack thereof. We are here right now today to show each and every one of you the sexy motherf'ers that you truly know you are. Now, in order for us to do what we do here, and turn this podcast into your sacred place, to be who you want to be, to love how you want to love, to move how you want to move, and to wear whatever the "F" you want. I'm going to need each and every one of you to call out to the power of the booty. And I want you to do it even if you don't think we can hear you. BOOOTAY ... BOOOTAY .... everyone sing it! BOOOTAY ... BOOOTAY! Ok, now we can start the show!" – Dylan Charles Germick of Planet Booty We had a great show, we talked about being fully you, creating music in Oakland, wearing crazy outfits, having your balls grabbed while on stage and more. This 2020 quarantine has given me tons of extra time I never wanted. First I used it to oversleep, then overeat, then panic set in. So I edited a bunch of old podcast episodes from 2015. That was good enough for a while. A few weeks past and I realized this epidemic wasn't going anywhere so I started recording new content. Get ready for interviews with interesting music industry professionals from around the world.…

Names went into a hat, those names were drawn four-at-a-time. Those four people became a band. Four drummers? A band. Two a cappella singers, a ukulelist, and a death metal guitarist? A band. Two bassists, a bassoonist, and a guy who has never played a show in his life (*cough* Stefan Aronsen *cough*)? A band. Nine bands were formed and had one month to write and rehearse 10 minutes of original music. The bands performed at Neck of the Woods on Friday, January 30th. The Band Frokost was crowned the winner, F*CK F*CK came in second and all the bands had fun. We gathered at Mutiny Radio 2 months later to do it again. Enjoy this set hosted by Stefan Aronsen and featuring The Bands of Rock Lotto at Mutiny Radio in San Francisco.…
