I'm so grateful the Lord captured my heart when I was young! Here's an update on life, specifically about summer, and some of the cool stuff I got to be a part of. I also share my Jesus story, how you can share your Jesus story, and the importance of leaders speaking up in times of uncertainty. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support…
Hey hey gang! Travis here. Wanted to take a moment to update you guys on life as well as talk about a few things that are interesting to me at the moment. We have way more dreamers than visionaries, and I think if we take a moment to be honest we'll realize we're simply just focused on the wrong things or unable to identify and execute on the clear steps in front of us. Enjoy this episode! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support…
As I’ve grown on my leadership journey I realize how much courage it takes to get help when you’re going through something on an emotional, mental, spiritual, or moral level. First you have to deal with the embarrassment of going through whatever it is, and if you’re in a word of faith community, you automatically feel like your level of faith is being audited. After your faith is attacked it can go one of two ways: 1. “Maybe I need to have more faith… Did I have it in the first place?” 2. “If I can’t understand this faith stuff then what's the point in having faith at all?”. If you’re in a leadership position opening up becomes even more awkward because you know some of your status is on the line. Things we try to hide eventually surface (Luke 12:2-3) and what may have been solved with some counsel and a brief hiatus can become the end of your career. We’re taking the stigma off professional counseling in the faith community. It’s my belief that the Church is in a “health revival” in all areas (spirit, soul, body). We must be intentional in these areas to continue to represent Jesus well as we serve Him. It's no secret: if you want to have a good life you need to have the right people around you. In Galatians 6:2 we read about bearing one another's burdens and in James 5:16 we read about how confessing our sins to trusted people can bring healing to us. BYE SUMMER! Yep, summer is over. We just have to say it, accept it, and move on... Lest we 'fall into fall'. Here's a life update I think you'll enjoy. I have a few cool collaborations on the way I think will be valuable to you. The main thing is this: keep loving Jesus and others. Party on. -Travis --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support…
Are you weird? Probably! Today we're talking about how we're all wired a particular way. You don't have to be a "Breakfast Club Christian". Find your fit in the body of Christ. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support

Hebrews 4:15 The Passion Translation “15 [Jesus] understands humanity, for as a Man, our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin.” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support
Culture says "Be a man", but doesn't show us how to be a man. Being a man doesn't come from external validation; it comes from an internal decision. When we see and experience what true masculinity is from Father God we can model that for our children as well. Imagine this... You're doing your thing and all of a sudden Jesus calls you. You leave everything and follow Him. Everything is fine until Jesus rebukes you... You think "It's not like it was my original idea to follow this Jesus guy, and now He's criticizing me?". The call to full-time ministry is an interesting one. Who are you?... But really. Some people like chocolate and some like vanilla. When you recognize they're different you can appreciate the difference. People are the same way. You don't need to have an identity crisis or reinvent yourself for others acceptance. Embrace the things that make you distinct because those are the things that make you "you". --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support…
Don't hate your job: love your life! People complain about work, but when you have a life that's on purpose you recognize where you're called and what you're supposed to do in that place. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/travisphillips/support
