Worship Leaders all over the world are doing a great service for their local church communities. Few things are so important as helping people connect to the Living God. But how do Worship Leaders learn and develop their skills and abilities? And how do they sustain a life of serving others week in week out, while also trying to remain a disciple of Christ, rooted in His Word and Living in the knowledge of His presence and Kingdom? We're going to try and find out on our Podcast, Worship Leader Life.

On today's episode I chat with Seth Shelley from Maple Park Alliance Church in Quesnel BC. Seth does creative work in speaking and storytelling and has been featured as a TEDx Talk Speaker with over 370,000 views on the TED Talk platform, and on YouTube as well. He's also the Lead Pastor at Maple Park. Seth and his congregation have spent the last 10 months figuring out how to film and record their teams, as well as Livestream using their existing A/V equipment and some new gear. It's been both challenging and rewarding, and it continues to be a work in progress. You'll hear Seth's heart and philosophy surrounding their choice to go to Video and Live Streaming, as well as what that means for his time and work, as well as his team's. There's some more great stuff in here too, so sit back and have a listen. LATEST WORKSHOP from WLL: Interested to learn more about Compression, EQ and Reverb? This is the second in our Tech Tools series, where we briefly discuss tools that are helpful for Ministry. Today we talk about 3 different options for Service and Worship Planning. We don't get into too much detail, since most of you are aware of what's needed to plan a service and organize a band/rehearsal etc. We give the old school method, the cloud based software subscription method, and the free or almost free cloud based method. In today's episode we referenced these platforms: * G-Suite (or just plain free Google, you can access their Apps from your Email account) * Planning Center * Worship Trac * Worship Planning Head to worshipleaderlife.com to find more resources on the Worship Leader's Life.…

Pleased to bring you Part 2 of the Casey Corum Interview. Be sure to check out the Ferment Podcast (mentioned by Casey in this episode). The following was from our notes last week . If you missed it, listen to Part 1 before you listen to this episode. –––––– It was my pleasure to get on a call with one of my favourite songwriters and worship leaders, Casey Corum. Casey's songs have gone with us through thick and thin, ups and downs, they have helped me to process junk, hear from the Lord, and lead so many others in precious worship. His songs have even become favourites for my kids! When they've had a long and rough day, they often request that I play Peace for them as they fall asleep. Beautiful moments of worship with my family. In my early days of leading worship, I would listen to and use Casey's songs in our church, and read interviews, watched videos, and did all I could to find out about this humble guy who seemed so far away from where I was. Turns out, he wasn't that far away after all! In fact, he grew up just across the border from where my wife grew up and where we live now, something I discovered in our pre-chat before the interview. Years after finding his music, I realized we had a number of mutual friends, and one winter we both ended up at an intimate gathering of fellow worship leaders and songwriters. In my nervousness (meeting one of my "idols"!) I did my best to be crazy, boisterous and loud, in an effort to find out if I could make this guy laugh. You see, this is always my go-to when I am trying to get in with others. Weak and silly, I know, but very human, wouldn't you agree? Haha. One night we all headed over to a local pub, Casey and a few others had got there first. I burst in, ripped my shirt off and proceeded to loudly proclaim something in song about Casey and his burger. Well, it musta made just enough of an impression, cause over the next few years we would see each other again at this annual event, and when I asked him if he'd be on the podcast, he said yes. I kept my shirt on for the interview. We grabbed this from Casey's own site, caseycorum.net Casey Corum is a songwriter, worship leader, record producer, and creative catalyst based in the greater Los Angeles, California area. Casey is best known for his work with Vineyard Music having served as Chief Creative Officer for over 10 years. Casey's songs have been sung in thousands churches all over the world in numerous languages. Some of his best known songs include "Dwell", "Form Us", No Longer Strangers", and "You Have Set Me Free". Casey also travels extensively working with artists, churches, and creative leaders on the stage and in the studio. Living life as an act of improvisation, Casey has given his life to unlocking creative potential in others and breaking through creative roadblocks. Casey is married to his high school sweetheart, Angie. They have four daughters and live in Fullerton, California.
