When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Talent Search To Reduce High Unemployment Rate In South Africa. Learn To Earn A Living Earnestly & Not Depend Too Much On Government or Stealing I do not believe continuous handouts to sustain any individual social grants of a country for the youth; in a long run is the ultimate solution to substitute unemployment for a dependency syndrome. Companies and Governments must offer alternative permanent job creation opportunities, for people to add value to society and appreciate their self-worth for being employed. We Need Youth Employment Service Program Projects like "Shoes & Sneakers Comedy Cartel" to develop creative talent and life skills should be part of our education curriculum. Entrepreneurship must be taught at high schools as a compulsory foundation course. This will prepare students for vocational training, instead of limiting their scope of interest and development to pursue academic studies. This basically is how you prepare a developing nation into self-reliance, on skills development to kick-start small business initiatives to grow the economy. high unemployment rate in South Africa The high Unemployment rate in South Africa The only way to realize our true potential as a nation is to become successful individuals in our own rights. Improving our technical and vocational creative skills and talents is a wise investment in the human capital development vision and the national plan. We need skills that are exportable and will not restrict individuals from finding job opportunities outside of South Africa. Placing race, colour, gender, and religion or nepotism impediments in employing citizens; is prejudice to their abilities to deliver better skills with qualifications, to employers. This is a deceitful attempt to undermine the rights of seriously qualified and credible job seekers to earn an honest living. Trevor Noah, Elon Musk, Charlize Theron, Bonang Matheba, and many other S.A. celebrities who left the country for overseas greener pastures; are the reason why our country is lacking in talent to create and manufacture our own S.A. brands to export abroad. I'll be the next to follow. The UK, USA, Canada, and European countries are where aspiring individuals with tongue and cheek need to focus their attention, goals, and ambitions. To prepare, thrive, and build legacies for themselves. This is how we can begin to set high standards for professional personal achievements. Setting high standards is not an option, but a necessary tool for our follow-up succession planning. South Africans Are The Only People To Decide The Fate of The Country. We need more than a miracle for a complete change in political justice against leadership malfunction to get the country in good order. The role of “messiah” to remedy our country’s predicament is something to be considered an impossible dream to fathom. The corruption viruses incurred by The ANC will never take us forward anytime soon. We must forge a different path to find an alternative solution that will transform everything from scratch to the glory we’ve all wished to experience. “A world of Shangri-La” was conceived as a place of Freedom and Prosperity after 1994. Perhaps, a new political party fresh from the ground up is what is needed right now to save ourselves from this annihilation. We Share The Same Dilemma And Fate Of Africa's Moral Degeneration ! South African black folks have a dilemma and a challenge to deal with the reality of the ANC corruption nightmare. Let alone the after-effects and the hangover of a honeymoon and the intoxication of a long-overdue delusional democracy since 1994. It is time for ALL South Africans to wake up and smell the coffee. Since the inception of S.A's democracy; it has become a habit for the ANC government and our people to tolerate excuses for poor performance in all sectors of SOE’s service deliveries. Optimization of resources to govern effectively without failure to their mandate to account to the nation has come to pass and they should be held accountable to the people for not delivering services. They shun taking responsibility for poor and bad decisions to own up to their actions for lack of discipline in their workplaces, and notch up the performance of standards to meet the country's economic output expectations. Our government is suffering from the terrible mental paralysis of self-denial and uses its incompetency to pretend they're in control. The reality is that - they don't know what they're doing and have their brains and faculty of reason twisted in a knot. Why after 28 years of democracy do we still have communities traveling 20 km to fetch water. Why do we have children in street robots begging for food instead of being in the classroom? We have people like Mzwandile in Soweto who runs after-school music classes, yet National Lottery Funding do not support his community development initiatives? - Read more about Mzwandile Here! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/isaac-khonjelwayo/message…

Schools as concentration camps to promote fear! Who should be held accountable - School is not a very good place to grow when you are young and fallible. It actually looks like a glorified concentration camp that had invisible silent emotional walls waiting to torture and cramped you in. Young as I was I did not have a big brother to protect me against any bullies at school or on the streets from home to school and back. I was always alone almost ready to fight my own battles in order to survive. Victims of Bullying Needs Help Life is the same for most people if not for a majority of us. We get bullied by our financial circumstances (poverty is a bully), we get bullied by society’s rules, dogmas, and mental negative conditioning, and no one to look up to for our solutions. We get bullied by Eskom rising electricity tariffs, Petrol suppliers raising the petrol price, traffic cops issuing unlawful traffic fines, and sometimes police officers who are supposed to protect us. I sometimes wonder why do we have to put up with this entire S*#%$&t. At which point does a normal person have to keep taking all the crab from anyone and possibly everyone, before they reach breaking point to commit murder, crime or suicide?. Often this crosses my mind; even when it comes to paying for goods and services at shopping malls and the till counters. Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears, and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we always come up with the idea of “I wish I was somebody else.” This is not a good sign of confidence and it means your “being” is a question itself. More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us.- when in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us we just don’t know it. Isn't it funny? We look at other people, envy them for looking so outrageously perfect and wish we could trade places with them, while they look at us and thinks of the same thing. We are insecure about other people who themselves are insecure of us. We suffer from low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence and lose hope in self-improvement because we are enveloped in quiet desperation. For as long as you don’t feel good about yourself you will display a poor vision of your capabilities and talents. Your work will not be good to your associates. Your outlook and performance will be compromised and the end results will be very poor in quality and unimpressive. Yet! When you give your all, you display confidence and everything you do will gradually become good if not exceptional. The Churches Newsletter This episode is the continuation of EP.74 part.1 Why should the church have its own church newsletter? Well! First and foremost, the primary purpose of the church is to reach out, preach, teach, empower, disseminate and communicate the Gospel and Christianity, if the dogma is about Christianity or God as the essence of creation, if the focus is about God. Whatever, the message is about. This information can be used to empower the congregation as well as the community, outside of the church. The non-congregants are part of the mainstream searching sheep; who are left-out of the church because they’ve not found a reason to belong in the church. This is where you find members of the famous “Gabola Church” disposition is affected by alcohol abuse, drug peddling and addictions of all kinds. The newsletter can be produced weekly and distributed to the church as part of the education drive to reinforce the teaching. Other information related to the church can also be included in the newsletter, e.g. upcoming wedding celebrations, special baptismal events, bible classes, prayer meetings, community crime rehabilitation programs and the churches Sunday school activities etc. The youth can be involved in the production and coordination of the newsletter to instill a sense of responsibility and purpose to develop their leadership skills and good qualities. Review Episode No.74 here The Sermons Booklet The Second item in the menu of archiving information for the library to be considered seriously by the church; is the production and printing of the churches Sermons Booklet. Why is it important for the library to have such a booklet? The sermons booklet serves two main important functions that the church can use to keep hope and the Gospel Teachings Alive and flowing, by constantly updating people with the latest information. The church should distribute it on a monthly basis to remind the congregation of the last past four sermons where upon the teachings made an impact to the congregation. This follow up strategy is how God empowers us to remember Him and constantly praise Him. Otherwise if this booklet is not in the hands of the congregation every month, they'll forget why they went to church in the first place. The second aspect of this booklet is a reminder and a reference book for the congregation to use as a personal encyclopedia of teachings to entertain their spiritual sentiments . It does have an impact to the readers psyche and it keeps their atmosphere and focus on the teachings. Rather than the church leave this to be in the hands of “social media” abuse of fake news. The booklet is a mini-version of the big picture i.e. salvation and our constant war against evil. This sermons booklet allow members of the church the opportunity to be soaked in the message rather than be lost to negative programming and messages that will destroy the atmosphere built by the pastors’ sermon. In Conclusion That in a nutshell is how the church should view, plan, visualize and go about setting up the library strategy of the church. If the church wants to survive the new millennium challenges or to meet the needs of the people on the ground. It’s message and teachings; should be consistent and fed constantly to serve, impress and to empower or execute, a new vision that will transform our communities to see the church grow beyond its current state. So! It goes without saying that no church should be without a library. The library should be part of the communication and education center for all church matters. This means the church should formulate or establish a team of education and communication members to manage and execute every other mission pertaining to the development, activities and ministry of the church. Therefore, the literature and its communication deployment within this context should be produced, created and published by the church. All literature should be about the teachings, scriptures, and related information that will empower the readers and members of the congregation. These publications should encompass languages within which the church can liaison with the congregation to accommodate, self-development, African Religious History, Eastern and Western religious teachings for educational purposes. Eight Resources The Church Library Should Never Be Without: The churches monthly Newsletter The ministry monthly Sermons Booklet A Journal of the church past, present and future goals Choir and or Music Score/Songs division or dept. The history yearbook of the church All Audio Files and Podcasts belonging to the church A Video Channel to broadcast the services of the church A Social Media online presence to reach out to the youth The Biggest Enemy & Evil That Society Should Fight Against Is Ignorance However, in the churches’ pursuit to establish a communication center and assign duties and responsibilities to its volunteers. It must have the churches’ education committee already in place. It is only natural that the church should investigate which curriculum it will need to embrace or follow to form or influence the basis from which their literature material will be produced. Apart from choosing people and volunteers in the congregation to offer their skills, expertise and knowledge in the establishment of these structures and projects, the church should communicate its intention and plans to the congregation. The church should find community members who qualified personnel to assist and support these undertakings and efforts. Legacy builders don’t cheat seasons of time to harvest their crops. Your Spirit is your license to God’s conscience. You can gain fame or lose fortunes; but without lifting a finger you’ll get nowhere, it’s all a pipe-dream. You’ll be like dog chasing a moving car and when that car “stops” it doesn’t know what to do. This is what happens when a government like the ANC changes political leaders and the opposition party takes becomes silence and oblivious of the negative impact it will bring to our economy. To be famous and rich you must be a lucky hardworking dude to a degree of being considered fortunate. Bill Gates or Steve Jobs biographies tell a promising tale of building legacies of wealth through honest hard work. Yet! To be fortunate you need to be luckier but possess a vision to work-wiser to keep such wealth and be content. It doesn’t make people guess if you’re not happy and have not conquered Life’s mysterious quizzes. Although everything in life is possible. Life gives everyone an opportunity to explore the right means and ways of acquiring things without the temptation to cheat. Even though real wealth takes a little longer to build and realize results of once hard-earned goals. Patience will always be our virtue to trust that one day your hard work will pay-off. It is always better to let the process of wealth building grow natural, than to seek short-cuts in obtaining quick riches. After all Nature’s menu of ordering and delivering our needs and wants is the most fail-safe means of securing a none forged and temporary happiness acquired through illegal means and methods. Soweto in a nutshell. hen fate ties you into a knot – What do you do? Soweto in a nutshell is a preview of Life in Soweto South Africa and a mindset of a new breed of creatures who seek something great and good for nothing, perhaps even free without paying a price for it. Yet! It is not about the entire history of Soweto, as it would not do justice to depict the true history of Soweto. Rather, this observation and the understudy of my people is a short representation of glimpses of its authentic strives and thrives, i.e. my heart-felt rhythms of its biological clock and the mixture of modern day blues. It is about the plight and courage of a people that stood to fight for an ideal purpose in life. This was in the early days of political struggle in South Africa. The 60’s until the 80’s was a bleak period in the history of African people in South Africa under Apartheid . Our people were able to learn to stand together united by a common goal to overcome adversity, and the hatred instigated by white people – just because we were dark skinned. We had challenges, but rose above and beyond limitations defined by destiny of a political agenda through a sick system of government injustice called “Discrimination In The Name Of Apartheid” and a class and caste division called “Separate Development” of African people according to their culture and traditions, and residential allocations in various townships and cities. Only to end up in 2018 with fragmented individuals who are fighting to amass and secure wealth and riches at the expense of stealing and laziness to thrive on poor leadership chaos the country is facing today. My effort since 1994 is to try and crystallize the important parables of its unique blend of human strength and integrity of character in a way; paint the inner and outer kaleidoscope of my observations to unravel but the basic unending, yet intertwined mystery of its unfolding yet unlimited but, complicated tapestry; I would like to call living under the “Fallacy Of A Faked Democracy” of 1994 elections. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/isaac-khonjelwayo/message…
When fate ties your nuts into a knot - What do you do? Where is your Church when your household needs it most? For our sons and daughters to acquire practical leadership religious family values That will instill a sense of pride and purpose to all adults and win back domestic rule? Does it mean we have to hire maids & consultants to do the work our grandparents used to teach us? Does it mean our status as a society has misled the nation to believe we are infallible and untouchables to do our own dirty laundry? Where is your Church program that teaches young girls how to prepare and cook family meals? And boys how to repairs door handles and wash daddy’s cars and keep up the garden? Does it mean our society has lost its core humane characteristic that was inherent? in the teachings of our forefathers’ values and traditional cultural upbringing? Are we so low to stoop beneath the level of our IQ that we can’t see right from wrong and make corrective measures? When will your Church take a stand to fight the scourge of this undesirable plague? When will the voice of reason begin to shape the minds of the young to learn how to survive in the modern concrete jungle? Does it mean the country is doomed to produce a breed of unfit leaders that will drown our blissful aspirations and dreams into a bleak future? When will your Church wake up from slumber before it realizes that the community it is serving and the building they occupy as a Church will one day be empty; because the real temple of Christ has left the neighborhood for Heaven? Does it mean we all need a Messiah to take us out of bondage and lead us once more to the Promised Land? “ SELF- ACTUALIZED” CONTENT CREATORS THE BACKGROUND CONCEPT ": A better world is a world where Self-Actualized People with good intentions and humility empower us unconditionally with knowledge and skills to make our dreams achievable and realized in our lifetime. My Definition of Self-Actualized viz. Self-Realized In the context of this TOPIC and the background information I want to explain will imply: A “ self-actualized ” person shall mean a person or an individual who is willing, able and capable of giving back to society- knowledge, experiences, information, skills, or shed light or proactive thoughts and building blocks of information unconditionally and unreservedly to the public, community or to society as a whole to empower educate and to inform them to become better human beings. Whereas, this person can impart their knowledge, teach, share information and or skills as a “selfless act of passion” to empower, liberate others from ignorance in order to fulfill his/her inner spiritual drive to perhaps meet their material need or ambition. In the process of giving, if such occurrence intends to make the other person think, feel, do or act better than their usual state of being. While a “self-actualized” person’s ambition might or can satisfy both the giver and the receiver; the self-actualized is not always restricted by distance, height, sight, space or boundaries of time to benefit their receptors. Any means of profiting from giving and sharing or imparting such knowledge if such information is owned and controlled by them or someone else with legitimate rights to do so in the beneficial processes; I consider it an act of kindness and noble gesture to mankind. The “self-actualized” individuals’ skill can be deliberated as a way of life to expand upon their consciousness of awareness to exist as givers. In their purest form of intend it is to inspire or to raise questions while make a difference or impact on society to behave and react in unexpected ways positive or negative. This impacts and alters society’s perception about the world views we live in. ETC.... Read more here! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/isaac-khonjelwayo/message…
