The old phrase “Boys will be boys” seems to have an effect on how people frame our social issues. Ongoing societal debates use this idiom to highlight how males exhibit certain behaviors during childhood are deemed excusable due to their gender. However as they reach adulthood these behaviors have impacted harm to the lives of many others. Moreover generating stereotypes towards males as the sole principle perpetrators for any violent crimes that links to hypersexuality and over-aggression as default male traits.…
Violence is a complex phenomena. Whether it is through bullying, mass shootings, sexual violence, parental punishment or simply a response to defend. It is obvious violence has an impact among many people in numerous ways that are favorable and unfavorable. It has been one of the many methods that has helped solve our political or moral dilemmas whilst at the same time have become detriments in creating new ones. Most importantly those who are witnessing and receiving the amount of violence, seems to be inflicted heavily on the youth. It's imperative to understand the consequences and level of responsibility when committing or responding to any form of violence, in any circumstances that can directly or indirectly effect people's mental health. Tackling the root of excessive violence that young people round the globe are exposed to can help us seek long term effective ways to limit its propensity.…
Lex Lowry addresses how we've allowed ourselves to idolize the concept of romance while oblivious of its roots and how it has carried into modern dating. It's created an imbalance in relationships, leading to unmet expectations, followed by broken hearts and divorced marriages. All due to a lack of trust and insecurity developed between potential partners, by presenting ourselves other than what we are in order to make an impression. Furthermore trying to carry on the facade for as along as possible. Romance unbeknownst to many, has affected in ways we did not expect.…
Lex looks to understanding the human ego and when channeled ineffectively, it can develop into arrogance. He delves into the realm of sports, particularly basketball. We notice certain superstar athletes are accoladed for their abilities and record accomplishments. However, it can be exaggerated to the extent it cloaks where they are deficient in terms of overall greatness as a player. In general, it can inherently create a context for anyone unwilling to confront their own flaws by constantly reminding others of their capabilities. There should not be a fear in addressing flaws within our character. Instead there should be aspiration to improve upon them in order to maximize potential and boost our ego.…
Lex addresses how society people have a tendency of loosely using the word “crazy” towards others. It can be towards family members, friends and even strangers. As always he mentions how mainstream media can play a role in perpetuating and solidifying someone’s appeal to the masses, whether it be true or not based on the information being reported. At the same time it’s important to keep in mind, consumers can incentivize Corporate Media framing a celebrity or individual in that light without context. This can play a role in people’s mental health and further contribute to societal dysfunction.…
Lex questions the authenticity of the feminist mantra "Equal Pay, For Equal Work". Female athletes in the sports world feel as if women aren't paid a fair salary compared to their male counterparts. After the Women's US Soccer Team won this year's World Cup Tournament they have filed a lawsuit against the USSF (United States Soccer Federation) for gender discriminatory practices in pay equity when the Men's team have failed to qualify last year. Subsequent to this story there has been another outcry of salary disparity from WNBA players demanding the same percentage of revenue NBA players are receiving from their organization. In light of these news breaks, one must bare in mind that the advocation for equal pay in this third wave of feminism, seem to disregard multiple factors that contribute to the wage differences. As a result mainstream media rushes to label this report as a "wage gap" hysteria that is solely due to male privilege under the benefit of the patriarchal system. One must ponder if feminist genuinely adhere to their own slogan. Feminists failure to fight for equality where there are women being paid more than men in male dominated fields as well as other professions dominated by women. In the case of sports there's a failure in acknowledging on how the women's league generates revenue, while not performing the same number of games in their schedule and attracting viewership in comparison to men's sports. There's an imbalance of information in need of clarification in how these profit numbers are calculated and allocated in the sports entertainment market.…
Lex expresses how people have a basic conception of monsters yet there is little understanding as to why they exist. These monsters can be fictionally represented through animated films, story books or actual human beings that have lived or are still living amongst us today. Monsters are not born, they’re made. If we are willing to concede that, then we have a better chance of preventing them from spawning within our existence.…
Lex sheds light on three Iconic figures that appear to have a savior, Messianic or Jesus-like persona that generate followers and fanfare. He draws the connection by breaking down the etymology of theirs names, along with correlating biblical scriptures describing the impact of their influence that is consistent with their overall character. He acknowledges that it’s bitter sweet when the very people whom champion, follow and praise them tend not to maintain that fire hope when during the darkest times of their Influential figures.…
Lex Lowry delves into understanding insecurity in light of Ayesha Curry’s comments on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk. It’s seems in today’s social media era where likes & views plays a determining role of people’s self worth. Ayesha Curry the young matriarch of the Steph Curry family despite having been blessed with a god fearing husband and 3 wonderful children, people have seem to base her comments about desiring outside male attention as something to value than the validation, the love and support of her NBA Star husband. Insecurities exist between Men & Women but we as a society seem to fail to understand why.…
Lex Lowry discusses the issues of colorism and how its existence within the black community continues to further divide and keeps them Imbalanced. In light of the incidents that have taken place throughout the past month from Jussie Smollett’s False report scandal to Mueller’s report summary of Trump’s Russia Collusion. It seems we are at a time where people are struggling with truth. Whether it be seeking, exposing or denying it. Due to the murder of Nipsey Hustle, a well known Hip Hop Artist from L.A. California who planned to reveal the story of regarding Dr.Sebi. Dr. Sebi was an herbalist known to have cured cancer, HIV AIDS, and numerous life threatening diseases. A story not many people are aware of. Suspiciously enough while Nipsey was in the process of making the film, this horrific incident occurs. What does this mean for us?…
Lex Lowry tackles the topic of sexual violence and abuse coverages that have sensationalized and focused on male perpetrators. Female sexual perpetrators, have been discussed lightly or not at the same level of propagation as male violators in Mainstream Media.…

Lex Lowry continues from last week on unraveling this popular term Toxic Masculinity that has permeated in mainstream news and conversations. He questions if Toxic Masculinity is nothing more than beta male behavior that’s causing an imbalance in our societies influenced by Western Cultures.
Lex Lowry addresses a relatively new ideological term that has been popularized through mainstream media and movements in the sociopolitical atmosphere. That term is Toxic Masculinity. There has been multiple versions of how the world defines it and many interpretations of how it is the sole reason for all of Western Society’s negative behaviors such as chauvinism, misogyny, homophobia, bullying, rape culture etc. This episode will question it’s origin, how and why its existence has effected us humans throughout history as well as today.…
Lex shares thoughts after the recent release of “Surviving R.Kelly” Documentary Series. There’s an imbalance in the public’s selective outrage. Due to shared stories from celebrities, proclaimed victims as well as former staff members who interacted with R.Kelly. Most of whom either enabled, confessed their participation (due to presumed lack of awareness), as a result felt “manipulated” in allowing R. Kelly’s sexual misconduct towards young black teenage girls to run rampant over the years. America and the rest of the black community of come unilateral conclusion that he is simply a monster. Lex entertains the reasoning of R.Kelly as a monster of the people’s making by not speaking out early on signals from R. Kelly’s childhood, how it’s transcended who he’s become as an adult and people dismissing it because of his music.…
It’s a New Year, with a new topic! Lex Lowry touches upon social media’s trending uproar over Donald Trump’s demand for more funding to build a Wall, a promise he made in his campaign for President in 2016. This has led to a Government shutdown after his meeting with Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. All of a sudden people on social media have become the budget police as to how Trump’s Wall would be a waste of taxpayers money. A Florida Amputee Army Veteran began a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for Trump’s Wall which seemed to cause more scrutiny through memes surfacing the web. This allowed impugning anyone who supports this crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. In the midst of the public’s criticism they fail to hold themselves accountable as consumers as they’ve partaken in 2018’s Holiday gifts and festivities that could’ve been reallocated to fund programs, charities, finance local crises they claim they are advocates for as it caters to the convenience of their anger and outrage.…
Lex Lowry touches on heart-sinking topic regarding Cyntoia Brown, who was convicted of murder and aggravated robbery in 2004 and is possibly serving a 51-year sentence in prison before having any chance of parole. While Lex continually addresses the public's emotional reaction as a catalyst for what may be foreshadowed as an instrument for certain political agendas to occur, he ties them all together to better understand the many social dynamics prior, that play a part in the level of unfairness individuals endure in the judicial system, by extension groups of people that tend suffer in it, and unravel a theory as to why it has led to the reported news of Cyntoia's expected sentence and why the system appears unjust as well as corrupt.…
Lex Lowry weighs in and dissects after the past two recent killings of black citizens when law enforcement mistaken them for perpetrators domestic shoot out at bar & a mass shooting at a mall. Police genocide that links to racism is still in existence as a whole and the psychological chains that keeps black people from moving themselves forward in demanding justice from these tragedies and instead of begging for it. Lex also expresses the point of those who control and benefit from the systems that are built from racism that help continue this calamity while some of them claim they are against but don’t do anything to change.…
Men in 2018 lately have raised concern as what they address as male bashing with quotes such as “Niggas ain’t shit!” and “Men are Trash” has reoccurring not only in today’s social media feeds but in their everyday interaction. Although #MeToo has helped raise awareness, call out the men who need to held accountable while encouraging women who were afraid to come forward, it seems it has stirred more fuel to a tribalistic environment amongst the sexes of all cultures in America. Some how out of good intentions as well as for suspected personal agendas have both mesh into what appears as an environment that perpetrators in question are solely men and should be presumed guilty if accused instead of innocent until proven guilty. The impunity of misogynistic behavior that women had been enduring since patriarchy’s existence has been pushed to an extreme as if every man has is guilty of participating and rationalizing misogynistic behavior that leads to these abhorrent cases of sexual violence towards women. More in important there seems to be a compartmentalized view of putting black men as a demonizing figure not to their female counterparts but to the rest of the world when data shows otherwise.…
Lex Lowry expresses his insight on Florida’s Midterm Elections that are underway. It is clear under Trump’s Presidency there is a complete divide and tribalism boiling between the two opposing parties. The Issues highlighted in each campaign trail and advertise through the media, mark the decisions being held on the ballot. Lex has noticed that voters do not properly inform themselves to make better decisions when participating in the political process nor have an idea how it operates. People tend to vote based on issues that “FEEL” is of their best interest with the political parties they “FEEL” identify under their beliefs and values. There isn’t an extra taken to analyze the specifics of the candidate’s positions, how they’ll execute it or further investigate their background. This Midterm Election needs to be a lesson learned for our 2020 elections and other elections to come.…
Lex Lowry makes a final analysis of the backlash Kanye West is receiving considering all of what had transpired in his meeting with Trump in the Oval Office. Important topics were addressed for the goals he wants to achieve in Chicago regarding prison reform, jobs and education. Despite the issues the Hip Hop Star addressed that would seem to be a chance for a bipartisan discussion, corporate media decided to deter from that and continued their focus on perpetuating and sensationalizing what one would depict as a charade of the artist’s “manic episode” and his “Love for Trump” to solidify the speculations of being crazy, unhinged, mentally illness and political allegiance. Furthermore adding more claims of the artist being manipulated by the President to obtain more black voters. Narratives such as these only a occur when a someone or some group wants a person to be silenced or irrelevant. Lex reveals some outtakes of the meeting and the important topics mentioned.…
Lex Lowry unveils more sound clips that mainstream media doesn’t reveal to the public as the narratives and opinions about Kanye West. As new stories continue to pile up and circulate, the image of this musical artist spiraling down to the point of no return. It has become clear, people are dependent upon the information they receive whether it be half true, a twisted truth or vague speculations along with assertions. Lex goes further in applying this logic to those who are reporting on behalf the news media and the misinformation they assist in perpetuating. Whether it be print, radio, television or internet streaming. Making a connection is key to better understand why Kanye is expressing positive vibes towards Trump and what is he planning to achieve from this.…
Lex Lowry provides more in depth insight to the ongoing media frenzy surrounding and the narratives pertaining to Kanye's previous actions leading up to the infamy of his image. Is he crazy, suffering mental illness or supportive of Trumps politics as media continues to suggest to public? All assumptions but nothing has been declared definitive. The unclear opinions continue fluttering through air waves of radio stations, emit through the screens of television as it permeates the minds of the people. So much to the point it has created distortion and confusion that the masses have succumbed to whatever headline story best suits their rationale to one of Hip-Hops iconic figures and validate as "the truth". It has so far become evident that the more frequent people misunderstand an individual and their reasoning, the more ridicule, defame and shun the person recieves. It's one thing to civilly disagree, its another to express vitrial and antipathy along with their disagreement. Moreover enforcing others to adhere to it.…
In spite of all the news being brought up about the "unhinged" Kanye and his "antics", Lex Lowry weighs in and speaks about the view that the public seems to have accepted from what corporate news media has successfully portrayed on one of the most well-known, influential, Hip-Hop Artists in the music industry of this era. This episode is just one part out of future segmented portions, that seeks to provide a complete, well informed assessment of the artists parsed words, while dissecting his comments as well as others who've complained and shared their opinion. Most importantly to raise further awareness of how the public is viewing the topic, as it continues to be proliferated in the news as more of his "Outbursts" and "Rants" begin to surface with each passing week and gain traction.…
Lex Lowry analyzes last month's Serena's "Meltdown" (As the media likes to phrase) at the US Open's Single Women's Final against Naomi Osaka. Japanese/Haitian Tennis won the Grand Slam tournament but apparently due to the Umpire's unfair code violation calls, it altered the stakes of the match. Serena's outrage is deeply rooted from countless unfair officiating during finals matches. However, instead the issue being about Serena's unfair treatment, she is claiming sexism that assisted in her lost against Osaka. Lex further reviews other topics in relation that are whole or in part, favor feminist political motifs.…
Lex Lowry explains in depth on the top false narrative about Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, Rock, & Soul that were often rumored before and after his death. Last week was the late music legend's Birthday on August 29th where he would have been 60 years of age. We recognize him as a musical genius, pioneer and humanitarian. In light of all events that have occurred under the #MeToo Movement, Lex Lowry weighs in on the imbalance of the general public's attention, perception, fervor and result of "justice" due to the recent story regarding Asia Argento Italian actress and the leading face of the #MeToo Movement has just been accused by Jimmy Bennet for being paid $380K to be silent for her unspoken crimes of sexual assault.…
Lex Lowry speaks about Miami Heat's franchise player Dwyane Wade and his Retirement rumors after discussions of resigning the up coming 2018-19 season proliferating around Social Media. Lex speculates a pattern when it comes to our former as well as aging NBA Superstars, particularly those who have proven to be "Alfa-Dogs" in this league. These type of players are either undermined or demonized.…
Lex Lowry recaps topic from last week's episode then re-reports on an old clip that was stumble upon a shared Facebook post of Ashanti performing in stripper attire and a doing lap dance routine. During that performance she stops the music, calls out one of her fans for throwing money on stage, demanding to stop throwing it because she says "...I'm not a fucking stripper...". Weighing in on old news may be unpopular but having to look and reanalyze this event in particular, helps to make sense from a person's actions, how the person rationalizes it, solely blaming other people's actions and how it impacts our sense of values within the perception of our society. From there we can better understand the imbalance of self-awareness and self-accountability when holding other's accountable.…
I weigh in on the Stand Your Ground Protest after the incident in Clearwater, FL where Michael Drejka-47 shot Marquis McGlockton-28 prior to McGlockton confronting Drejka for harassing girlfriend Brittney Jacobs over parking in a handicap space.
We are all familiar with Memes as a humorous picture with words, yet we don’t realize how far in depth they really impact as we scroll through our social media pages. Not to mention their effectiveness in propagating certain behaviors throughout society.
Lex Lowry introduces himself on his first ever podcast! A bit sporadic, a bit scattered...can we say halfway monotoned? HA HA! However it's a different type of energy, a balanced energy if you will. It is much worth a listen, be prepared to listen to some more!
